metres of the city centre and central train station. The 95 soundproof guestrooms are decorated in neutral colours with sleek wood furnishings. All include Internet connections, cable television, radios and telephones. Some rooms (not standard) come with separate sitting areas, in room safes, trouser presses, hair dryers and minibars. After breakfast guests at the Mark Hotel can browse through complimentary newspapers in the lobby, research local Munich information via the Internet services, and ask the hotel concierge for any sightseeing assistance. Other amenities include onsite parking garage (fee), dry cleaning services, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. The Mark Hotel, Munich, allows business users to make use of the conference room equipped with a range of audio visual equipment, ISDN and Internet points. The hotel also houses its own bar which serves a selection of drinks throughout the day including speciality Italian coffees. The hotel is well located for visiting the city's attractions. The shops and restaurants in the city centre are just a 100 meter stroll away. The Pinakothek with its collection of European paintings is 300 metres from the hotel; Hofbräuhaus beer hall lies two kilometres away. The nearest airport to the hotel is Munich Franz Josef Strauss, which is 35 kilometres away at an approximate driving time of 45 minutes. A shuttle bus runs directly from the airport to the train station, which is less than 100 metres from the hotel. Alternatively, taxis are available from outside the airport and should cost approximately 55 EUR. Munich's extensive U bahn underground system is the most efficient way to get around the city. The same tickets can also be used on the S bahn commuter trains, buses and streetcars.

Advantages: Ideal location for city centre Disadvantages: none really
Having to travel from time to time for work I recently found myself having to spend the best part of a week in Glasgow and in need of somewhere to lay my weary head at the end of the day and Marks hit the spot in terms of distance from the office and located right in the middle of the city centre with shops and bars a few minutes walk away.
Now I am not particularly fussy on where I stay and to be honest really dont have a huge say in the matter as we tend to opt for a combination of convenience and price that falls within the allowed budget so the question was would Marks hit the Mark,
Marks describes itself as a 'luxury 4 star hotel but is it really?
Arriving at the hotel at the end of our 1st day in Glasgow, having got off the train and straight to the office my colleague and I where tired and weary. The hotel itself is easy ...

Advantages: Lovely, clean, and tidy Disadvantages: expensive
Only stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, but it was lovely and clean and tidy, the en suite was unbelievably clean, the towel were soft and still warm.
On arrival to the hotel we were greated by very friendly and welcoming staff who all spoken such good englidh (one of my concerns as i speak no german at all!). we were early for our room so decided to get luch in the bar, which was beautifully cooked, and very cheap (£2 odd) and the Berlin beer served there was also very nice!
There is entertainment on there most nights, while we were there there was a caberet, and a singer on, all which really involved the crowd in the bar.
the breakfast the following morning was lovely, included all the normal items for a german breakie (bread, cheese etc) but they also had sausage and scambled eggs, which for me was a huge bonus, prefering ...
Advantages: Good location and service Disadvantages: NA
I stayed in this hotel on my first visit to Munich in Easter. I travelled down to Munich from Berlin by train with a friend. The hotel is centrally located and it only took us ten minutes walk to get to there.
The reception/lobby is not a huge place but has all you need. They have a big shelves with lots of maps/guides. The lady at the desk was friendly. After checking us in, she even helped us with our last minute booking on a day trip.
As with many of the European hotel I've been to, there is only one very small lift which can only fit in about 2 persons, provided both are small. Fortunately, both of us are quite small and we had small suitcases, we could both go up at the same time.
The room is nicely decorated and it's equipped with all the facilities such as hair dryer, coffee making facilities.
