Choice Hotels in Blackpool

Advantages: Well appointed,clean, kids club,spacious,good food,friendly staff
Disadvantages: None

I know, I know, Blackpool is perceived as fish'n'chips, bucket and spades, amusement arcades, B&B's. What about something different? Choice Hotels in Blackpool run 3 hotels - The Claremont (near the North Pier), the Talk of The North (near South Pier) and the Cliffs Hotel (North Promenade just up from Gynn Square). My family and I have stayed at the Cliffs Hotel on 6 occasions, ranging from weekend breaks to full weeks. Why? The hotel is large and well appointed - it has a 1920's feel about the facade and interior and is very clean and spacios. There are 5 bars and a large resturant. The food is excellent with a very good selection - the staff are very helpful and friendly. There is a well appointed leisure club - free to residents. It has a pool, jacuzzi, small but very good gym, sauna, sunbeds and a leisure club bar. It ...

Squirrel Lodge, B&B in Keswick, Lake District

Advantages: Clean, well presented and everyone polite and helpful
Disadvantages: Problems over price, some glitches with food

Squirrel Lodge is a bed and breakfast in Eskin Street, in Keswick. Keswick is a delightful town situated in the heart of the Lake District and is an ideal base for exploring the area for activities such as walking and cycling. The town itself has a good number of restaurants, pubs and shops. The bed and breakfast is situated near to the town centre, just a few minutes walk away. It's easy to get to and the location of the bed and breakfast is very convenient. The biggest challenge can be finding car park spaces, but this is a problem for many of the establishments (and indeed locals) in the area, but we were able to find spaces not too far on each occasion. We stayed for three nights during the off-peak season, and Squirrel Lodge was generally full, although still had vacancies on a couple of nights. There are a range of rooms, twin ...

The Elgin hotel, Blackpool

Advantages: lovely food and good service from the waiters
Disadvantages: Everthing else about the place

I have already done a review about Blackpool, and I absolutely love the place, we went to Blackpool two years ago on a family holiday, myself husband and three kids. We booked our holiday through The Belfast Telegraph travel agentsand we went through Ulster Bus tours, the price was £800 approx this included traveling expenses and the hotel.(Bed, breakfast and evening meal). The hotel was the Elgin and we were told that this was a great hotel for families. Arriving at the hotel We arrived at our hotel at about 7.30pm and had to que at the reception to get our keys this I didnt mind but our dinner was at 7.45pm and we still had to get our luggage to our room, we got our luggage sorted and went down for dinner, the food was beautiful and the service from the waiters was fantastic. First impressions of the hotel Well there was ...
