Marmaris beach
Advantages: Not a far walk to the sea, free sunloungers all day as long as you use one of the many bars/restaurants along the front Disadvantages: Not sandy sometimes can be very crowded
I holiday in Marmaris every year, and have done for the past 5 years in a row. The beach in marmaris is a great place to tan, but not such a great place if you want peace and quiet. The many bars and restaurants along the beach give you a great selection of afternoon refreshments whilst on the beach, and if you use one of them, they will give you free sunbeds all day.
A short walk from the sunloungers is the crystal blue sea which is great for paddling, ...

Time to get dirty! - Dalyan Mudbaths
Advantages: Very cheap alternative to a facepack for both sexes Disadvantages: THe stench - but you get used to it!
...the local countryside, visiting the Dalyan rock tombs and ancient city of Kaunos etc etc.
I discovered the location of the mud baths whilst on a boat trip down the Dalyan River. I noticed a horrible stench - like rotten eggs. Looking around the boat all the 'newbies' to the town were all looking around and probably thinking the same thing I was...... I was getting ready to be impressed when the captain of the boat shouted - "sulphur pools next to ... ...do on a trip to Dalyan - it is the mud bath. From reducing one's mental age to about three and thinking throwing mud pies is funny to the tingly skin for hours afterwards the experience is great.
Everytime I look at the photos of me and my girlfriend caked in mud I have to crack a smile. We have never been so dirty. ...

Icmeler Beach
Advantages: Relaxing in the mediterranean sun Disadvantages: Only get 2 weeks a year
Icmeler beach the perfect place to soak up the mediterranean sun. Plenty of sunbeds to lounge around and beautiful clear sea. Very nice sand/small shingle beach but always very very clean. They take excellent care of the beach and it is cleaned and raked every night. Plenty of room around your sunbed for the kids to play. Nice enclosed bay with clearly marked swimming areas so no danger of getting in the way of the activities that you can do - para-sailing, ... ...can probably find it in Icmeler market. Be prepared to barter with the locals you have to haggle over prices but can end up with some excellent bargains. I found that quite a shock the first year we went as wasn't expecting it to be so full on everyone trying to get your business and very vocal about it. Wasn't so bothered the following year as i knew what to expect.

Wallow in glorious mud.
Advantages: Good for skin, good fun. Disadvantages: Takes ages to wash off.
...have accidentally placed this in Dalyan Rivers instead of Dalyan mudbaths and am trying to get it changed.
On a recent trip to Turkey, I decided to go on lots of excursions to see as much of the country and the culture as I could. It was brilliant. One of my favourites was the Dalyan 3 in 1 which included a visit to the mud bath. The 3 in 1 was a visit to a carpet factory (that was actually an extra), a wallow in the mudbaths, a trip by boat down ... ...time on the beach at Dalyan with lunch included in the middle somewhere. The whole day lasted 11 hours and was excellent, OK, it did take an hour and a half to get there but it was well worth it. I am only mentioning the other activities of the day briefly so that I can discuss whether I think it is worth visiting the mud baths as part of an organised trip or on their own. It cost £25 each or thereabouts for the whole day and for this to be 11 hours ...
