Advantages: Not a far walk to the sea, free sunloungers all day as long as you use one of the many bars/restaurants along the front Disadvantages: Not sandy sometimes can be very crowded

A short walk from the sunloungers is the crystal blue sea which is great for paddling, or if you fancy having a swim.
At night the beach really hots up with all the bars restaurants and clubs coming to life with foam parties and various bar crawls that are organised daily.
Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Return Flight Time
I feel that I must write a review in defence of Goldtrail Holiays, even though I do have one grievance against them.
I booked a trip to Marmaris via Bodrum Airport with Goldtrail from 12/07/06 - 19/07/06. I was a little wary as I had never been to Turkey (except a day trip to Bodrum from Kos) and I had never heard of Goldtrail. The holiday was Our choice - Marmaris, which meant allocation on arrival. We arrived at Bodrum airport at 15:50 and were on the coach and making our way to Marmaris by 16:30. We had a comfort break half way for about 20 minutes as it is a 2 and a half hour transfer. We eventually arrived at our destination 'MarmarisBeach Hotel' situated behind Natalies Steakhouse 2 at around 19:15. I was put at ease straight away as the hotel was meticulously clean and the staff on reception were really helpful. I paid ...
Advantages: Fantastic manager and staff, beautiful pool, location, food, everything! Disadvantages: None!
My parents and sister jetted off to Turkey after recommendations from my Nan and Granddad who have now been going there for about 20 years! I didn't want to go with them, so I stayed at home with family. I was about 14. They came back raving about it...and so the story begins!
They had stayed in the Karacan Beach Hotel, a 3 star hotel in Marmaris. Marmaris is a tourist spot in the south west of Turkey. It's vibrant and buzzing and definitely suited to couples, families or younger people. My Nan and Granddad stay in a place called Turunc, which isn't too far from Marmaris but which is a lot quieter and more suited to people who aren't interested in night life!
I then went to the Karacan Beach Hotel with my parents. I was 16 and we went for two weeks. The hotel has a 3 star rating which I think is low for the quality of the hotel ...
Advantages: Excellent All Inclusive option Disadvantages: Not near Resort Amenities
For anyone looking to go to Marmaris, the Marmaris Palace is a great base in which to customise to the resort. I would strongly recommend here for first time visitors to Turkey.
The complex has everything you need inside - and as its an all inclusive unit means you dont need to worry about cost when you get there.

Set on the main road route to Icmeler, which is the neighbouring town to Marmaris. Icmeler itself is a lot quieter than Marmaris, has a nicer beach and more suited to couples and less livley families. Marmaris is more lively, great for shopping, has plenty of bars/clubs/resturants - suitable for all but would appeal to youngsters aswell who perhaps would find Icmeler a bit boring.
You can get a bus (dolmus) outside the complex which will take you into Icmeler or cross the road for a bus to ...
