Parler vous anglais??
Review of Ibis Moussafir, Marrakech by
davekaren
Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Could get 3* cheaper elsewhere
I stayed in the Ibis Moussafir Marrakech in November 2006. The Ibis Moussafir is very conveniently located in Marrakech, especially for onward travellers. It is sited on the West of town between the Airport and the old town, next to the Train Station.
Arriving at the hotel from the airport is simple (and relatively cheap). It costs 50-60 dirham per person (16 dirham=£1) to get a taxi to the hotel from the airport. The taxi will be your old fiat ... ...are very helpful, but since Ibis is a french origin hotel chain and Morrocco has french links, the second language of the hotel staff is French not English, so a little knowledge of the language was a big help.
Once past the desk you enter the bar area which is kitted out with traditional Moroccan decor - lots of dark hardwood chairs and tiled tables. There is also an outdoor seating area in the gardens, and a pool bar (shut when i was there). Prices ...

Peace and Tranquility in a Busy City
Review of Riad Dar Sbihi, Marrakech, Morocco by
mattygroves
Advantages: Peaceful, pretty with wonderful owners and staff. One of my favourite places ever.
Disadvantages: No tea making facilities. Early morning call to prayer gives a swift awakening
...happy medium. Riad Dar Sbihi is in the northern part of the Medina (old city) in Marrakech. A riad is a traditional Moroccan dwelling. It is laid out around a central courtyard, with the rooms communicating with the courtyard, but not with each other. The result of this design is that you step from a bustling (and dusty) and somewhat chaotic street into an oasis of green and calm...and birdsong. The courtyard is surrounded on all four sides, but ... ...in the central courtyard. This riad has a ground floor, a balcony and the roof terrace. In addition, there is a small swimming pool, a hamman (Turkish bath), a couple of public rooms (we ate in one of them once). The website boasts rather charmingly, "Dar Sbihi proposes 6 rooms and 3 suites."
Riad Dar Sbihi has several room types, ranging from doubles and twins, through to small suites. All rooms have an en suite bathroom - ours (room 101) had an ...

i had a blast at the tamkast
Review of Tamkast, Marrakesh by
ciao_rossi
Advantages: friendly stafff and lovely towels
Disadvantages: not enough rooms to invite my entire family
Where do i start? i mean really. well if you are looking for accomodation to match the stunning beauty of marrakesh then you are looking in the right direction.
this traditional style accomodation in the heart of the city is a joy to abide in. i can only say that staying in the Tamkast enhanced every aspect of my experience.
the staff were so friendly and accomodating in every instance, even when i had a problem with the towels in my room being ... ...honestly were a little on the large side but filled my need. the rooms are tastefully decorated and adequately furnished and the view from the rooftop terrace was outstanding. you know, morroco isnt known for its chilly winds and it can get a little humid down there but our rooms were equipt with a fantastic air conditioning system which kept me from even needing my over sized towels to dry myself off.
yeah it sure was one great place to stay, infact ...

Lovely Riad, Shame About the Location
Review of Riad O2, Marrakesh by
Stizzy1980
Advantages: Rooms and food are great, very relaxing
Disadvantages: Location, location, location!
...spending the Easter weekend at Riad O2 in Marrakech. Prior to visiting Marrakech we had good email contact with the riad, and we confirmed with them that we would like to be collected from the airport and have dinner in the riad on our first night. We then arranged to pay the outstanding balance by bank transfer.
We arrived at Menara airport after a really easy three hour flight, and we were quickly met by one of the riad's drivers, Hamid. He helped ... ...wary of the area that Riad O2 is situated in, and unfortunately on arriving I have to admit our worries were confirmed. Hamid pulled up at the end of a road near Sidi Ben Slimane, and we then walked for three or four minutes to the riad. It isn't unusual for cars not to be able to get to the a front door as the whole medina is narrow, however the walk to Riad O2 isn't pleasant. The route is confusing (although we mastered it after a couple of trips), ...
