Great holiday.

Advantages Everything went very smoothly. Hotel was lovely. Rep very helpful and pleasant. Fantastic holiday.
Disadvantages Food could have been better, particularly if you left it late to go to dinner as buffet left out.
The holiday started well as flight from Gatwick arrived early. Fleetway shuttle transfer was on time, comfortable and pleasant. Hotel not too far from airport. The rep was very friendly and arranged to meet us the following morning. He told us about trips but wasn't pushy. Hotel was lovely with clean and pleasant rooms. We were fortunate to have a room overlooking the pool. I'm not sure that the other side would have been great but the area was not built-up so at least the view would be open whichever room you were in. Hotel was a bit out-of-town with a shuttle bus available. On the plus side, the bus was reliable and it meant the hotel was very relaxing and calm. The downside we thought was that there were insufficient buses going into town, one at 10 a.m. and the next not till 1 p.m. As we'd arranged the meeting with the rep for 10 a.m. that meant we missed the only bus in the first morning. Taxis into town cost about £4 but we did have some problems getting the same cost coming back from town and did have one heated argument about the price agreed in advance!
Hotel pool was large and very clean, with comfy sunbeds. Pool a little chilly in March but still usable. Hotel has lovely new spa and the massage was great! Hotel staff were all helpful, although not all spoke good English. French is a much better bet if you have any.
Marrakesh itself different and exciting. Probably best not to get a guide as you end up spending ages in souk shops being worn down about buying stuff where the guide gets commission! This may not be the case with the 'official' guides though. Fun to sit on one of the cafe terraces with a mint tea and what the world go by in the main square.
Also highly reccommend a tour to the foothills of the Atlas mountains and the Berber villages.
La Mammounia hotel fabulous for a visit and a drink on the terrace.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Reccommend you get plenty of 10Dirham coins ( about 80p) to distribute for tips etc!
