Advantages: sun, sea and marvellous food Disadvantages: poverty
I have visited Goa for seven years consecutively, up to three years ago. The only reason I have not been recently is marriage breakup and studying for a degree.
Cidade de Goa is an excellant hotel, the staff are incredibly friendly without being intrusive. The hotel is spotlessly clean, restful and to be honest the best one I have ever stayed in, and I used to travel extensively.
The people in Goa are so willing to help and show you the area, one never feels threatened.
Anjuna market is a delight for shopaholics as are the back streets in Panaji (Panjim) the capital.
Bogota Beach has the most incredible fish restaurant on the beach, it is advisable to go early at lunch time, as you can pick your own fish and it is first come first served.
The Red Snapper is to die for, as is the freshly caught lobster.
Menino's restaurant ...

Advantages: Excellent Resort Disadvantages: A little bit isolated
Over the years we have stayed at numerous hotels throughout Goa and this was our second visit to the Nanu Resort within the past two years. I must say that this is one if not the very best 3 star hotels in Goa.
All of the staff are extremely friendly, polite and very attentive and have been trained to very high standards, better than some of the 4 star hotels we have stayed at in the past. Nothing is too much trouble for them and if they are unable to assist you personally, they will immediately find someone who can help you. The cleanliness throughout the hotel and general appearance of the resort itself is also to a very high standard for Goan hotels.
All rooms are air-conditioned and also have a fan and multi-channel TV. Towels and bed lined are changed daily and are beautifully soft and clean, not grey and hard as some other ...
Advantages: quiet beach, nice pool, big room Disadvantages: Long way from the airport, mediocre buffet
Ever since some friends of mine were raving about Goa, about ten years ago, I'd been wanting to visit. You see, many moons ago I might have liked the idea of being a trailblazer, a pioneer, travelling to places where visitors were rare and no souvenir shop had yet opened but now - with two destructive minimees, I don't even pretend to fancy myself as an explorer any more. Nope, we are no longer ever in the first boat to new territories - we wait till there is at least one five star hotel, sun loungers on the beach and a bar that sells a decent vodka!
So, how did we finally end up in Goa? Well we were in the neighbourhood, so to speak, so decided to pop in. And we were enticed by a great offer! It was off season so we managed to get an unbeatable deal at the Intercon Resort - otherwise I would not stay at an Intercontinental (they ...
