I stayed at the CardiffMarriott Hotelin December 2003 and I believe there are many advantages of staying here but that there are also disadvantages. I shall take you through the pro's and con's so that you get a clear picture for yourselves. The main advantage was that the Marriott is situated in an ideal location- it is only a few meters away fro a row of pubs and restaurants and around 10 minutes walking time from the main street in Cardiff. The Hotel itself is very impressive on the inside- everywhere is very clean and shiny! There is a bar there and a restaurant and a gym/spa. The gym is quite large and for each treadmill there is tv. The pool itself is also large and you get a clean towel each time you go into the gym or the pool. There are 2 lifts that take you up to the rooms and on each corridor in the hotel there is an ice machine. The bedrroms I thought were a bit small but nonetheles were fully equiped with a tv, kettle, iron, teas and coffees, trouser press and of course a mini bar -which was very expensive indeed! The var downstairs was also very expensive and I only stayed there for one drink. There was a help yourself breakfast every morning and it was truly remarkable- you could have anything you wnated and go back and have more as much times as you'd like. The main disadvantages were that the bedrooms weren't that spacious, it is quite expensive to stay here, the bar was expensive and you had to pay to park in the car park- around £7 if I remember correctly. Even though - I would definitely go back there one day as the location was a big plus- no need for taxis.
