Those of you who are starting to read my reviews will see that I am a girl who loves to stay places. This is my second hotel in Cardiff. My other review was in the Big sleep. Anyway, I cant remember why we stayed here, might have been a birthday or something. I know i paid!
On arrival at the Marriot. after going around the roundabout 4 times because we couldnt find a turn off! We found that there was no parking because it was full of people using the gym. After traveling 50 miles and spending £140 we expected a space. So we waited. after a while one became free and we parked only to discover that you also have to pay for parking aswell as your stay there. This worked out as an extra £12 on top I believe.
Apart from the prices of the food and drink there, that was my only real complaint about the hotel. however there are so many places to eat and drink you would have to be mad to spend a fortune eating and drinking in the hotel anyway.
The rooms were clean and quite spacious. The bathroom was lovely. There was a suana and gymnasium at the hotel which we were impressed with and all in all genuinely enjoyed our stay there. The hotel is extremely central. Located just round the corner on the right from the train and bus stations.
The staff are friendly and helpful and are able to recommend good places to eat and drink.
i would recommend this hotel to others as apart from the costs for eating and parking it is a genuinely nice hotel.
As with most Marriotts the bar prices are extremely high. Good review. Paul
