For someone who hasn't been to pakistan, let me give a brief explanation on what can be expected. Well, the truth is expect anything! You could be walking down a run down street and there will be beggers around you and you will really feel the poverty level and it's very sad to see and then within a few minutes of further walking you will be look at magnificent hotels and shops etc.
This hotel is beautiful, inside and out. Just to look at for starters it is of very high quality and is beautiful. The marriott in countries such as england is good in itself and one may think that in a country such as pakistan it will not be of the same standard or maybe run down. Not at all !! On the contrary !!! For a cheaper price you will find excellent quality, the rooms are lovely and are in pristine condition, the staff is also tip top head to toe in uniform, the food at the restaurant is amazing, looks fantastic and tastes even better. Dishes that you may not have seen anywhere for a while using the country's seasonal fruits and vegetables that may be rare in other european or western countries. The buffet breakfast is a must for all food lovers ! You can go for a chinese, a bar-b-q or to the coffe shop which is beautifully maintained and of great standard.
Expect high quality and to feel really special, because believe me they make you feel very special indeed. Of course tips are expected at every turn so keep that in mind and don't feel over obliged to give a lot or all the time, i can tell you for a fact that some workers will definitely make you feel like that. This is normal in Pakistan, you will realise this as soon as you arrive at the airport!!
For the healthy and keep fit type, you there are tennis and squash courts, and a jaccusi, sauna and indoor and outdoor pools. Get a good room a little higher up and get a great view of the city and you will see all the different levels of living in Karachi, the fantastic houses and also the run down streets but it's definitely an experience and the hotel is definitely at the highest end.

Nice review :o) Would have been nice to see a little more info - things like what the rooms are like, quality of room service, etc - but I enjoyed what there was. Cate.
