...cuisine style I have ever heard of. Hygiene standards are reasonably high but I would recommend caution when ordering from the street vendors or with eating raw foods. Prices range from the ridiculously cheap vendors (about one pound for a main meal) through to some reasonably expensive but very good restaurants (20 Pounds per head). Patong is also home to the famous Soi Bangla road, which runs directly off the main beach road and is home to some one thousand bars and clubs! I had originally been a little concerned that this may not be a suitable destination for a couple as this area in particular is famous for it’s sex trade and seedy night life. Advantages: It's got everything imaginable

..., to and from Manchester, Heathrow, Bangkok and Phuket, private car transfers to and from the Thai airports and hotels and our hotel accommodation, which was three and a half star in Bangkok – The Hotel Asia, and a four star hotel in Phuket – The Kata Thani Hotel and Beach Resort. Both hotels were on a bed and breakfast basis. Our hotel in Phuket was truly amazing: A large, low-rise complex, that had everything you could imagine. Firstly it had a magnificent beachfront setting, which was lovely in the evenings, just watching the sun go down from our balcony was heaven. The beach itself was very clean, tidy and private, with sun loungers available. ...shower and a maid that tidied up our room everyday! All in all a complete bargain! PATONG BEACH Our hotel was a 5-minute walk from Patong beach that we went to practically everyday of our stay. It's a really nice beach, no litter, very beautiful, but very crowded. Patong is a party town; there are lots of bars, clubs, brothels, strip bars, restaurants and westerners! *** Eating *** Eating out can be very cheap. The Restaurants (more like cafés) by the waterfront seemed to offer the best quality food for the cheapest price.
