I stayed at this very central hotel in Tverskaya for a long weekend and really liked it. All the public areas as well as bedrooms are well kept, modern and clean. There are constantly housekeepers pottering about with dusters.

The bedrooms, although very tidy, in good condition and fitted with all the mod cons, are not very luxurious. The word basic springs to mind but does not really suit, maybe simple design is more like it. The security is fairly tight, which is sometimes reassuring and sometimes annoying, The concierge insist on security staff watching you open your luggage before it is stored in the lodge, for example. The lobby stairs only go up to the second floor with conference and dining areas. Access to bedroom floors is via lifts which operate only when an active room key is swiped.
All rooms have butler service ( they unpack / pack /iron your clothes, polish your shoes, rent out videos etc) which operates out of the executive lounge. The staff in there are very friendly and delighted to serve even if their understanding of English is a bit limited.
The only negative point I experienced was their ability to deal with a problem that arose, they concentrated more on correcting their operation than ensuring my comfort and happiness until afterwards when I was offered a gift.
It is mainly a business hotel, and nowhere I would bring my family if I planned on spending a lot of time in the hotel. Although it does have a 24hr pool!
