Advantages: Great access to Powell Street cable cars Disadvantages: Its not the closest to Fisherman's Wharf by any means!

However, I was disappointed to find that it was probably one of the farthest hotels from Fisherman's Wharf when it came to the area - others were much closer.
Also, for the first time in my life, I fell out of bed! The bed itself ... ...on top of the mattress. I rolled over on the first night, thinking I was turning onto more mattress, only to have it collapse underneath me and I landed on the floor!!! What a strange set-up!
Free internet access was useful - even if only for 15 minutes at a time.
The hotel has everything you expect from a 4* but others were closer - in fact, I think there was only a Travelodge further away! I would recommend, but with ... more

I had already spent 5 nights in a 2* near Union Square and has chosen to spend my final two nights at the Marriott as a treat. However, I was disappointed to find that it was probably one of the farthest hotels from Fisherman's Wharf when it came to the area - others were much closer.
Also, for the first time in my life, I fell out of bed! The bed itself had a duvet type insert in the fitted sheet immediate on top of the mattress. I rolled over on the first night, thinking I was turning onto more mattress, only to have it collapse underneath me and I landed on the floor!!! What a strange set-up!
Free internet access was useful - even if only for 15 minutes at a time.
The hotel has everything you expect from a 4* but others were closer - in fact, I think there was only a Travelodge further away! I would recommend, but with the caveat that there were others closer.
