Advantages:
Very central position . Opposite the main railway station . Tram stops right outside . Has a fantastic leisure centre with pool, sauna, steam room and gym with studio for aerobics, yoga etc .
Disadvantages:
Very expensive to eat or drink within the hotel compared with other restaurants/bars around the same area .
The Mariott hotel is a luxury and well established hotel in central Warsaw. Although a lot of modern hotels have been built in Warsaw now, this hotels reputation for high quality standards, means it is still as popular as when originally built.
Its position is central and offers good access to public transport, with the train station being right opposite, as well as the tram stops. Public transport is very cheap, punctual and extensive, so having it on your door step is ideal. (The old town of Warsaw is approximately 15 minutes away by tram or bus.)
The hotel is well decorated and very luxurious. You are made to feel welcome right from the moment you approach the hotel when the doorman greets you in his immaculate uniform. Our luggage was whipped away onto a trolley before we knew it. The receptionist was friendly and ensured that all was ok before handing over the key. The lifts are spacious and mirrored with security cameras.
We stopped in a junior suite on the very top floor!! No good if you are afraid of heights, but great if you want a room with a view. It had a spacious lounge downstairs with an equally spacious bathroom and bedroom upstairs. The standard of furnishings was high and a bowl of fresh fruit and some drinks were delivered to us with compliments within 5 minutes of getting into the room. A nice touch.
The bed looked inviting with its luxury dressing and in the wardrobe we had bathrobes and slippers.
The hotel has a coffee bar, Italian restaurant and the main restaurant. Although we did not eat an evening meal here, the breakfasts were amazing. We have never had such a varied choice. It was buffet style and had: fresh fruits, cereals, cheeses and meats, english breakfast, Polish food, freshly cooked waffles and omlettes made by a chef to order, various breads and much more. The staff in the restaurant could not do enough for you. The hotel offered a personal service and had little extra touches such as, turning over the bedding at night and placing a chocolate on each pillow. As we were in a suite we had access to the Executive lounge. This had plenty of comfortable settees to relax in whilst you sipped a complimentary soft drink or coffee/tea. Throughout the day there was also a supply of pastries and Polish specialities as well as a continental breakfast in the morning.
The leisure complex was large. It had a fully equipped gym, steam room, sauna, swimming pool and two jacuzzis and a dance/aerobic studio with a variety of classes available throughout the day. There was also a beauty parlour attached. Around the pool were plenty of loungers and newspapers/magazines.
In the hotel there are also shops. These include a florist, car hire, a bank exchange and a souvenir shop.
Overall this hotel offers exceptional value for money with a very high standard of service and facilities.

I am glad to hear that the breakfast in Mariott is as goos as it had been when I stayed there about five years ago - the best hotel breakfast I had. Ever.
How much did you pay?
