...Allo. I’m sure you get the idea. There’s also the Pier Showbar, which has been home to some of the town’s best nights out, if you like dance music. The different ‘nights’ tend to rotate on a weekly basis with monthly or fortnightly events, but things change oh so quickly in clubland so check local press for listings.
The beach runs west towards Poole, and along the way there are some really lovely spots, Alum Chine for example, which serve as their own little beaches. At each of these Chines there are parking areas and various activities: ice cream vendors, tennis courts, a pub, etc. It may be worth, if visiting in the height of summer, to seek out the Chines rather than relying on the main Bournemouth beach as they do tend to be quieter, and consequently cleaner.

Advantages: Great facilities and location Disadvantages: Some rooms on the small side
...Getting there
Our family stayed at the Queen’s HotelBournemouth for 2 nights back in May 2007. The drive down from North London is 112 miles and took around 3 Hours 20 Minutes which included a 30 minute stop over. The Hotel is located on Meyrick Road, just a minutes walk from the sea front and a 15 minute walk to the Pier.
There is room for about 15 cars in the car park at the front of the Hotel, with room for a further 20 cars at the rear. This is free to use for guests and you give your car registration details when you check in. The hotel has 109 rooms and deluxe suites situated over 4 floors. There is a lift near the reception to all floors except lower ground which has just 6-8 steps, so the Hotel is ideal for the elderly.

Choices of rooms range from four-poster bridal suite rooms to deluxe, family and executive...

...Bournemouth is NOT full of 'mature' people, it is an excellent place to holiday on the south coast. I am a 25 year old and have spent the last ten years holidaying in Bournemouth. The sea is lovely, sand golden and the entertainment and facilities provided by the local authority second to none. That also goes for Heathlands Hotel. Heathlands is situated on the East Cliff and within ten minutes walking distance of the town centre (although it is all up hill on the way back). There is an outdoor pool for use in the good weather. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I would recommend when booking that you request a room on the front of the hotel, as the back overlooks the kitchen area and it gets very hot in the back bedrooms! There is a really relaxed and homely feel to this hotel and I have returned there after trying other...
