Went to the Masia Mara on safari over the summer and have to say it was the most brilliant experience you'll ever encounter.
I was only there for 3 days but boy where they a mighty 3 days. I was based around Lake Navisha on my Kenya trip, and traveled to the Masia Mara by rented Landys. This trip was long enough, the roads where fine until me just past Nakuru where we where of the beaten track on our way to the Masia Mara (the roads just not so good!).
When we arrived at our safari accomodation in the middle of nowhere we recieved complimentry pineapple drinks, and where then shown to our tents. Now these where luxury with warm showers, flushing toilets and comfy beds. The food was amazing, morning, day and night.
To top this all off the safari was magnificent. Our guide was a local Masia Warrior who just directed our convoy of landys to all the wonderful wildlife. Zebra, Gazel, Wilderbeast and Buffalo are everywhere. Plenty of Hippos and aligators can be spotted in the rivers, with elephant and giraffe also easily spotted.
The big highlight for me was the lions. These are not as common, but we did spot a pride hanging about, and within half-an-hour 2 came running in the distance with a Zebra. Oh yes a lion kill! 10 ft from us, the pride of lion, lionesses and cubs dug into the meal, a truely spectacular sight. Then the falcons and other big birds came out, hovering for the left overs. In another occasion we spotted highena and jackel scrounging over leftovers.
All in all, this a lifetime experience not to be missed and I would recommend safari for a few days leaving you time to explore more of Kenya.

Sounds like a dream come true! A little bit info would be good for higher ratings - what was the accommodation like, what were the prices like, what did you do on each of the 3 days? Lucie xxx
