Yes, its true. Mash and Air used to be the place to be, but a number of factors have contributed towards its death. Who knows what the nail in the coffin was, maybe it was the location, maybe the door policy was too strict, maybe the drinks were too expensive, or maybe it just went past its sell by date. At the end of the day, the Manchester clientele are fickle. They decide a place is cool because members of Manchester United or the cast of Hollyoaks have been there. These people then decide to go to that one place religiously. They queue up outside, they become members and they spend ridiculous amounts of money. The reason - IMAGE. So that they can say that they are regulars at the coolest place in town. Then, one day, Posh and Becks decide to go somewhere else. Your favourite bar is no longer cool. So you follow them there. Now that mash & air is dead, the new places are Loaf and Reform. Who knows what it will be next month.
