Restaurants in Mauritius- how to find?

Advantages: good website for checking restaurants in mauritius
Disadvantages: only in english

My wife and I are organically from Poland. We came to Mauritius first time in an organized tour. We had no idea how to find restaurants that will suit our budget and taste. Our guide only suggested fancy and expensive restaurants. Silver Beach Hotel (Mauritius)

Advantages: Beautiful coastline, no mosquitos
Disadvantages: Poor service/food, Limited facilities, Everything closes from12pm to 10am

...a 3 week holiday at silver beach hotel. After reading many positive reviews we were very disappointed to find that the hotel fell short of these. The pool is extremely small, deep and lies directly in front of the restaurant. The service was overbearing and annoying. We were frequently moved after sitting down to eat as we had not sat at the table we sat at on the first night. They were obsessed with clearing cutlery and plates disturbing your conversation, ...
...that particular time even though i had said this was not necessary. The rooms were of a good standard and the location was good. All in all mauritius offered some fantastic experiences and a great holiday but i would not recommend that you explore them from the silver beach hotel ...

Sailing to Paradise

Advantages: Gorgeous weather, lovely food, cheap day out, being in the sun

Water World!

Advantages: Amazing experience, great price, once in a lifetime thing!
Disadvantages: Not for those afraid of water lol

...and that is a Walking Underwater Experience. I love being in the water, and the thought of being in deep water, in an exotic island, amongst the fishes sounded like paradise to me. Therefore I was thrilled when I went to Grand Baie and they told me that they offered it as a trip! I instantly booked my place, and had to wait another week before I had the chance to go "under the sea"! As I just mentioned above, my Underwater Walking event happened ...
...Katamaran and of course the Underwater Walking. You book these trips through local guides who you can easily identify walking along the beach telling tourists about their trips. They then book you into a slot for few days later provided that you have a time and date convenient for you. Yet another review on Mauritius...Quatres Bornes, the posh town!

Advantages: Nice clean place!
Disadvantages: not as popular as Port-Louis (the main capital)

During my stay in Mauritius, a local friend of ours took us to Quatres-Bornes so I could pick up some paperwork from my travel agency. Mauritius is in fact separated into districts, and each district is made of either of towns or villages. Quatres-Bornes is found at the very centre of the island, in the district of Plaines Wilhems. It can be considered as one of the main towns in the island- even if it cannot be compared to the City of Port-Louis. ...
...and distinguished architecture which is highlighted by a vivid landscape and mountain scenery. Since we were staying in the northern part of the island, I would say that it took us around one hour by car to reach the town. I was really impressed by the natural Charm of Quatres-Bornes, and it has some nice shopping centers and stores.
