Should be called Honeymooners Paradise

Advantages: Very quiet and romantic
Disadvantages: A little expensive

Firstly I would not rate paradise cove as 3 star hotel. This is up there on 4/5. It is not quite 5 star but the quality is there to be seen. It is set in enclosed grounds with a private (man made) beach. The views from the rooms is stunning, however some rooms have Palm tress obstructing you line of sight. It is the perfect place to go on Honeymoon (most of the clients are honeymooners). The staff are very friendly and always looking to help. They ...
...the little bit of personal touch to the whole experience. The food is well prepared and meals are good. There is usually a set menu with a few choices, however if you talk to the staff in the morning they will see what they can do if you request (I stayed 14 days..requested on 12 of them!). Breakfast is nice and varied, having a vairety of fresh fruits, choice of cerelas and breads. Hot breakfast is also served in the form of bacon and tailored omlette. ...

Le coco Hotel

Advantages: Good Food
Disadvantages: Large and shabby

...a tropical island. The le Coco Beach hotel is situated on its own white beach perfectly clean and manicured each morning. The hotel is only a 3 star hotel and its fair to say, showing its age. We had a room overlooking the beach it was clean and the sheets and towels were changed each day. the bathroom was a big dissapointment mold on the tiles and fitting falling off. The hotel did do there bestto rectify the problems however it did take the ...
...were going to upgrade to a superior bungalow, but overall the room with its view was the better option. our package was all inclusive and i am glad we had it, because the cost of food and drink was just to expensive for a 3 str hotel. However the food was the best we have had on holiday of this type. The evening self service buffet was an eating extravaganza of freshly cooked food of all nations and the staff were superb as they were at lunch ...

Dead as a Dodo? Alive and Kicking!

Advantages: Great Beach, Excellent service, very relaxed
Disadvantages: Hotel is small, not much entertainment, not much for young families

...useful to anyone considering the Merville Beach. To that end I have decided to focus on the Hotel alone, I will not be touching on Mauritius as a destination at all, there are other reviews for that and in time I may contribute to those too. I would like to point out though that although the Official language of Mauritius is English; the most commonly used is French. That said, nearly everyone can at least hold a conversation in English so you won't ...

A beautiful feng shui hotel

Advantages: Excellent hotel, choice of restaurants on all inclusive tariff
Disadvantages: can be a bit windy - smaller stretch of sand than some other resorts

This hotel was designed with a feng shui advisor so the rooms are themed as metal (superior rooms), water (deluxe) or wood (suites). We had paid for a deluxe room and were upgraded on arrival to a 1 bedoom suite. It was a truly luxurious room with the most massive bathroom I've ever seen. There are two sinks, a walk in shower area (easily big enough for 2 people), a two-person jucuzzi bath from which you can watch the sunset if you wish. A lovely ...
...bit is you get a huge outdoor seating area one area is undercover with sofas and a dining area and the other area is under the sunshine and has 2 large sun loungers. The superior rooms are located on the lower floors and the deluxe rooms are located in a separate bay about 2 mins walk further than the main block. One of the best features of this hotel is the choice of restaurants that is included in the all inclusive tariff. This includes a mediterranean ...

Warm and sunny and that is just the welcome

Advantages: Away from it all in paradise
Disadvantages: A bit of a climb back up the hill if you go down by bike.

Lakaz is basically a set of bungalows, each individually designed and each with its own outside shower, which is great, set into the hillside of an old banana plantation. You are invited to make yourself at home and you can. There is a pool. You can pay a flat fee for drinks and just go to the fridge when you are thirsty. there is fresh fruit to be had all day. The staff are unfailingly helpful and friendly and totally unobtrusive. The manager used ...
...on the coast, so the kitchen is unbeatable. You can visit the coloured earths and tea plantations easily and also go abseiling down immense river gorges or by the sides of a waterfall. There is dolphin viewing and bike riding to be had. A visit to the beach takes about 15 minutes by bike, on the way down, it is a bit harder on the way up so beware:) If you like being a bit away from it all, but still with plenty of things to do in a friendly and ...
