Killing Bono?

Advantages: Hilarious, candid, intelligently written, tons of anecdotes.
Disadvantages: An air of desperation; an overly harsh dose of realism for wannabes.

for himself while watching his friend Bono become one of the biggest stars of the past quarter century. This wasn't an easy road for McCormick - he's struggled with his own jealousy as his career stalled and U2's endlessly ascended. All of this, and much more, is spelled out in 'I Was Bono's Doppelganger', which was published as 'Killing Bono' in the US. The book isn't a biography of Bono: it's McCormick's own memoir. Bono, and the other members of U2, are major characters, but the story is entirely McCormick's, starting from his earliest childhood fixations on celebrity and ending up with him once again being faced with the possibility of "making it." McCormick, now a columnist for the Daily Telegraph, originally saw himself becoming a famous actor. Those dreams were quickly dashed when, at a high school talent contest, his dramatic ...

A Town's future is riding with one man.

Advantages: Actors and the soundtrack
Disadvantages: Slow in places

First a bit about the movie plot and then my opinion. Based on a true story, Madison ( Indiana ) was a boat racing town, the busiest one in the mid west and was the first professional boat race held in the USA. The town had it's own boat called Miss Madison. Jim McCormick was the driver for Miss Madison until he had a accident in June 1961 barley surviving, ending his career and taking his best friends life. In 1971 Jim and his crew along with his idolizing son Mike are getting ready for the boat races across America, but every time they enter things look good until failures start to crop up, Miss Madison has seen better days. On top of that the small town is losing money, with people being made redundant, they are heading for the cities. But their luck changes and their town gets picked for Gold Cup hydroplane boat race. Jim seizes ...

Some Like It Hot

Advantages: quick and easy to prepare, no cooking experience required, very tasty
Disadvantages: quite hot

. Schwartz The Schwartz brand was established in 1889 by William Schwartz, the son of a German immigrant, in Halifax, Canada. The Schwartz Brand is bought by McCormick and Company, Incorporated, the world's largest producer of herbs, spices, seasonings and flavourings. Following rationalisation within the UK the McCormick branding was phased out and replaced by Schwartz. If I haven?t got much time to spend in the kitchen before friends arrive I often resort to recipe packs I always keep at home. I usually have a selection covering anything from chicken, sausages, potatoes and mince. Schwartz are a company I have always favoured over Colemans as I find their recipe more palatable. Coleman?s sauce mixes are always a little watery and runny compared to Schwartz. But the disadvantage is that they cost a little more and not all packs ...
