I am not sure if I am writing about the correct McDonald's store here, as when I went out to Serbia I stopped off at a McDonald's on the outskirts of Budapest. And so my apologies now if it is not quite the correct one, but at least I am still going to be writing about one in the same city!
This was one of those out of town restaurants, situated on what we would call a retail or business park. Put this way, there were other large shops and offices all within the same area, and so that description is close enough one feels! The building had been designed and built in pretty much the same way as the same type of restaurant here that is out of town, but with a difference - attached to it was a double decker bus, that held further seats and tables for use. Not quite what we expected to see, but it certainly tickled our fancy and gave us something to talk about when we continued on with our journey. The menu (once we had worked out what it all meant) is near enough what you would expect from any standard McDonald's restaurant, as was the price. Although the only main problem we thought that we were going to face at first was the language barrier, luckily we were able to converse in the end with a mixture of French and German. This helped both sides immensely, and the staff were more chuffed than what we were come the end!
The atmosphere in the restaurant was fantastic, and the staff although it was extremely buy (it being the main mad lunchtime rush) were still willing and happy to do whatever they could for not only us but for anyone who came in to visit. There was a number of children's birthday parties going on around us (even though we were sat outside on the picnic benches!), and the staff were getting involved and making themselves look daft - thus, we knew that they had a great family policy. The whole restaurant was kept clean all the time that we were there, and if there was any mess or fuss then the staff were on to it straight away. I therefore found that the standard of service overall was among the best of the McDonald's restaurants that I have been in, and yes I have been to a few.
I urge you to find this one if you can should you be going through Hungary, as it is I feel one of the best. Thank you for reading, and enjoy.
