While visiting Orlando on our honeymoon, my husband and I got off of our plane and went to Mears for transportation assistance.
We told the customer service representative we would be staying at the GrosvenorResort for 4 days and asked him what the best means of transportation would be. He said that a shuttle would take us back and forth to downtown Disney, but that we would need transportation outside of the park. He said that for 4 days, we could get transportation ANYWHERE outside of the park with this 4 day $148 super pass. Of course we thought this was a much better deal than we could get at a car rental station. So, we gave him $148.00, and we were given our super pass (nothing else…just the super pass), and we were taken to our hotel. The driver told us to make sure we kept the pass until we were ready for our last transport, which would be back to the airport, for our return flight. He pointed to the 800 number and said call this number 24 hours in advance to make reservations, and make sure to call 2 or 3 hours before you are ready to return from your destination. That's ALL the guidance we were given!
Well, once we got to our hotel, we started planning our 4 days out. We decided to take a trip to Dixie Stampede's dinner and a show. Well, we called to make our reservations with Mears 24 hours in advance, just like you are supposed to, and we were surprised to find that Dixie Stampede was not covered under the "super pass", and the charge would be an extra $24. Now, when you are told that a "super pass" will take you any place outside of downtown Disney, wouldn't you assume that Dixie Stampede would be part of that any place? We were told the same thing about Gator Land. When we asked what this famous wonderful super pass did include, they replied with, "Super pass will take you all the places listed on the paper you were provided with when you bought the pass." HMM…..we weren't given a sheet. Obviously, we were upset to find that we had just paid $148 for a ride to and from the airport and one ride to Sea World and back. SO, we had to pay a taxi service to take us all the other places we went, and we walked a lot of the places we went. We ended up paying about $200 for transportation to and from our tourism spots during our stay in Florida….about the cost of an economy-style rental car.
I was very displeased with the customer service we received; we were very misinformed, and poorly advised.
The two times we did ride the shuttle, it was packed tight, and it took us FOREVER to get back to our hotel, which was only 3 miles from the park we went to. Also, when we called to confirm our reservations for one of the few trips we took, they had the date wrong, and if we wouldn't have called, they wouldn't have picked us up! It was the most Horrible service ever! I can put up with a lot and this is the first review I have ever written, and the first complaint I have ever given for a public service, but I refuse to put up with that crap.

we used mears last year and not once did the know where we were staying. The first booking seemed to go ok, took ages to get them to understand my name and hotel then they didnt turn up for us in the morning, fortunately someone else was getting picked up at our hotel and the driver kindly took us aswell. Our hotel had recently changed names so the drivers didnt know where to find us, the first driver had been looking for us on Idrive even tho we were in kissimee! It was the same every time we booked, on pickup from the parks the drivers didnt have any idea who they were there to collect, rarely had enough seating available and took WDW guests before anyone else. I wouldnt use them again, we had vouchers and came home with some left over ones last year as we found it easier juts to travel by taxi!
