Owing to the recession the hotel industry has been one of the hardest hit areas and as such, we have seen some of the most excellent deals come out as room rates drop back to prices charged in the 1990?s. Staying in the UK for the summer I decided to take advantage of some of these rates and looked into the special offers available from Crowne Plaza. As a treat for myself and the other half, I decided we would go to Manchester for the weekend. It is a city I haven?t really explored much before and thought it would be a good weekend trip. I had seen the newly opened Crowne Plaza on this years Apprentice and the hotel and rooms looked very modern and stylish and when I saw the promotional prices I thought why the hell not and off we went. CITY CHIC

Advantages: smells nice, fantastic staying power
Disadvantages: too strong and heavy for some

City Glam is a fragrance which was first released in 2005 by Giorgio Armani; I have always liked the Giorgio Armani fragrances and have quite a few of them in my perfume collection so as soon as I spotted City Glam in my local Chemist's I had to buy it, and I knew I would like it. I paid £25 for a small 30ml bottle of City Glam Eau De Parfum approximately 7 months ago although Boots sell a 30ml bottle of the perfume for £22 according to their website. As you can see from the picture at the top of this review the bottle of perfume is supplied in a tall cylindrical pink bottle, which City Glam written in silver lettering. I think that the bottle looks quite stylish and plain because it is supplied in a metal tin as opposed to a glass bottle. Most of the Emporio Armani fragrances for both men and women are supplied in the metal tins ...

City Inn Manchester

Advantages: Location, service, food
Disadvantages: Small rooms

I have been a regular to this hotel over the past two years and I have never been disappointed. The hotel is conviently located across from the main train station and only a 2 minute walk to the centre of the city - Piccadilly Gardens. The staff have always been helpful through my stays. The decor is contemporary and the rooms are finished to a high standard. Every room comes equiped with an Apple desktop computer with free internet acess - a nice touch. Fixture and fitting are all of a high spec and clean throughout. My only grip perhaps is that all the rooms are quite small. The hotel bar is again contemporary in style, but is comfortable and has a good number of guests in the evenings. Breakfast was of a high standard with excellent service and a great selection of hot and cold foods. All in all, a great place to stay! ...
