Medina Executive Apartments - North Ryde, Sydney

Advantages: Superb service, good facilties, excellent food, reasonable prices
Disadvantages: Not in the city, I was there on business

...When I knew I could go to Australia, my next mission was to find somewhere to stay. I tried Expedia, last minute, and the other usual culprits, but as I knew nothing of Australia's Geography, I was very much in the dark about what to chose. The University I visited was in a Sydney Suburb called North Ryde, and it was Google that came up trumps directing me to the four vacation outlets in the area. Only problem was, being that far away from away from home, firstly I wanted High Speed Internet Access and an indoor, or outdoor heated pool. The Stamford Grand North Ryde came up trumps on both accounts, but in endeavouring to keep my travel budget down and having forked out nearly £700 for a flight, all the agent websites were way too expensive. Advantages: The most spectacular views of Sydney Bridge, Opera and harbour.
Disadvantages: No restaurant, not cheap.

And if the idea of wakening up each morning with the most stunning views of both - and the whole panorama of Sydney Harbour thrown in as well - appeals to you, then the Harbourside Apartments is definitely the place to book. Sydney is an amazing place. It swarms, it bustles, it throbs with vibrancy. It is without doubt a must-see place. But if you prefer to escape the crowds (and the city noise) at night, then North Sydney - just a few minutes away across the harbour - is the ideal place to stay. Sydney's transport system is excellent, and the ferry services are first-class - better than the bus system in most UK towns. The Harbourside apartments are located right next to McMahon's Point. Disadvantages: A little bit on the expensive side

...service for when your feeling lazy! Car park (fee), Cocktail bar, Day Spa, Disabled facilities, Drycleaning & laundry services, Executive Club, Express checkin/checkout, Fitness Centre, Internet cafe, Guest Tour desk, Valet. This place is a great venue for couples to stay more than for families due to the hustle of the central city environment, but i am sure anyone would have fun here. I understand the venue is a popular one for business gatherings as well and i noticed a few conferences going on there. the hotel has meeting and conference rooms and caters for business functions.It is about a half hour drive from Sydney Airport and there are bus transfers available....
