...In March we stayed in the MedinaGrand on the Harbourside (Darling Habour) for 4 nights. We booked the accommodation over the internet (lastminute.com.au). On first arrival the staff were very friendly and escorted us to our room.

3. Bathroom - Huge. Marble bathroom, in Black...

Advantages: scenery Disadvantages: none
...It is only a two hour drive from Sydney to the Blue Mountains but a world apart. Distinctly cooler than Sydney you find yourself in the midst of the most stunning scenery. We also viewed the Three Sisters from Echo Point and then caught the Katoomba Scenic Railway which plunges nearly vertically down the canyon – not for the faint hearted. Neither is the Scenic Skyway which carries you across the ravine –pure drama. We could happily have spent days in this lovely spot and hope to visit it again some day....

Every year, around 4.5 million tourists come to see it which istwice the number that visit the White House.
It is the result of an international design contest won by Danish architect Joern Utzon in 1956, the massive structure perched on Bennelong Point (where an Aborigine named Bennelong held concerts for early colonists and natives) took nearly 17 years and $102 million to complete.
Utzon, inspired by sails, mandarins, palm leaves and such, wasn't too concerned with mundanities like budgets, and left mid-project before his grand interior vision was realised. Hence...
