Consistently year after year, Melbourne is tagged as 'The worlds most liveable city' - well one of them anyhow. Melbourne is Victoria’s state capital and with 3.2 million people is Australia’s second largest city, and yet sometimes it is overlooked as a tourist destination.
There is some considerable rivalry between Melbournians and Sydneysiders, and Sydney certainly tends to have a higher profile for international tourists but Melbourne gets its ... ...can easily walk across central Melbourne in an hour, but if you are low on energy levels there is an excellent tram system – but be careful getting out of them. To get your bearings head for the Rialto tower from which you will get excellent views of Melbourne.

Advantages: Cheap, fair and far away Disadvantages: On an extremely distant continent
...I will head for the Melbourne Observation Deck. Right in the heart of the city, on a clear day, one can observe the surroundings of Melbourne. It cost around $14 for an adult ticket but if you go to their website at www.melbournedeck.com.au, you could actually print out a voucher that will give you a 15% discount. Or, once you arrive in Melbourne, grab yourself an official vistor guide, there is usually a coupon in the back pages. Give yourself half ... ...Melbourne is a walkable city to visit. But a free tram goes round the city, passing some of the attractions, if not, bringing you closer.
