Great Location & Great Staff
05/05/2007 - 12/07/2007 approx £100 per room, per night B&B.
First time we have stayed at this hotel but have used the Sol Melia Group throughout Spain before.
The hotel is located on the Paseo Maritimo in Palma and has excellent views over the marina and Bay of Palma and is about a 20 minute stroll to the centre of Palma. Ideal for visiting the bars and restuarants of the old town at night and the beautiful city of Palma during the day. There is also a good range of bars, cafes etc along the Paseo Maritimo if the 20 minute walk is an issue.
The facilities were good especially the pool area which was spotless, had plenty of space and the best pool bar staff I've met in a long time. Once they got to know you nothing was a problem and the standard of service was friendly and relaxed. The level of staff service throughout the hotel cannot be faulted. The other services include 2 restaurants ( 1 was good the another wasn't tried), a lounge bar(tried every night before the 20 minute stroll) a spa, internet access ( bit pricey and the in room wifi is a better option),.
The rooms were spotless and offered all the usual 4* facilities. TV, Bar, Balcony - great views. The pillow menu was certainly an unexpected treat. The only downside was the aircon which wasn't the best or quietest. If staying insist on a seaview room as the rooms at the back would be disappointing.
Finally the breakfast.... possibly the best I've had in Spain. Plenty of fresh fruit and juices, great pastries, a good choice Spanish cheeses & meats and a full leg of Jamon Serrano that was cut only as required. Didn't venture to the hot food area all week which is a first for me.
If you like good food, good service, a comfy bed, clean surroundings and you fancy a relaxing weekend or week, outwith the usual tourist trap area hotels of Mallorca, I would certainly recommend this.
All in all the best recommendation I can give is that I will definately be making a return visit in the future.
