...Bogota has imporved over the years, once a place of chaotic traffic, bad roads and a general sense of disorganisation, it has changed immesly for the better.
Transport - Buses and Taxis they are frequent and roughlty cost the same amount which ever you decide to take, For the buses you jump on where you want and then just let the driver know when you want to get off, there are no bus stops as such. there is also the new El Transmilenio - which is a giant bendy bus which gets around the city much faster.
Shopping - Bogota is a great place to shop, you can buy typical colombian things, you can buy jewerelly from tradiational colombian pendents with pre colombian figures, to emeralds and dimonds. For clothes shopping i recommend a place called San Anderisto - IT sells fashionable clothes, along with Toys, Jewerelly, Bed Linen ect...

The Melia is a four star Luxury Hotel with conference centre.
We stayed three nights.
Cost Ł196.59 for a standard room. This was for three nights (Ł65.53 per night).

Advantages: Adults Only Disadvantages: No Shopping/Entertainment outside of the hotels
...has its own coral reef, aproximatly 1 km out from the shore, this can be reached by boat. Sunloungers and Parasols were all free of charge. You could also borrow snorkling equiptment, canoes and windsurfing equiptment at the small beach hut run by the hotel.
When it came to meals I am quite a fussy girl, but I was pleasently surprised by the range of food on offer at the Melia Cayo Coco. For breakfast and evening meal, you would pop down to the buffet style restuarant, or you could reserve a table at either the A la carte or Itallian resturant (one reservation per week), my recommendation would have to go to the Beach BBQ/Grill Hut near the beach, the swordfish was amazing, although bear in mind if you are going to eat there early evening, remember the mozzie spray!
