I have just returned from staying at the hotel El Cid, This is now my 4 fourth visit so i feel i can express a valid review on the hotel. The hotel is at the lower priced hotel holiday stays in SItges, approx £1000 for a fortnight with B&B booked through an agent, you can do this holiday cheaper if you book indepdantly. Over the past 5 years the El Cid has become alot more noiser and the overall decor is tired and in desperate need of updating. The El Cid offers an excellent Pool area with padded sun loungers, it is a right sun trap and a socialable area where 90% of the gay holiday residents mix, This hotel is very popular with gay holiday makers and affection is often openly displayed, it has a nice mix of both male and female residents. The rooms are very basic, the towels are changed daily and the beds made daily, bedding is changed ...
Advantages: A haven for sun worshippers, shoppers, food and wine lovers, lovers and people watchers – excellent food and wine at wicked prices with guaranteed sun and friendly hospitality. Disadvantages: Local drivers eat British cars for breakfast - so hire your car locally, we're glad we did.
The picturesque town of Sitges is a resort of mixed moods. One moment you're relaxing on a tranquil sun-soaked beach soothed by foaming waves - five minutes later you could be enjoying a refreshing drink in a vibrant themed bar or club or tucking into a steak or more traditional fare in a sophisticated restaurant - at very unsophisticated prices.
When you are strolling along the promenade, admiring the seascape and drooling over the menus outside the upmarket hotels and eating places, it is hard to believe that just around the corner are seemingly hundreds more bars, clubs and restaurants offering great quality produce, service and hospitality - and at very reasonable prices.
