My partner and i were recently in london for the weekend so i looked up expedia to see which hotels we could stay in and i decided on the melia white house as i thought it looked nice and was in a medium price range.
The hotel is conveniently located as it is only about 3-5 minutes walk from the great portland street tube station which means that it is easy to get to other parts of london from the hotel. Also it is not far from regents park and london zoo is a 30 minute walk. We also walked to the camden market as it was only about 10-15 minutes walk from london zoo. We also found that the hotel was easy to get to from heathrow airport as you can take the tube and you 0only have to make one change of tube line.
When we arrived at the hotel it looked exactly like it did on the website with the reception area looking grand and having marble counters. Check in was done quick and efficiently although i did have a slight problem understanding the member of staff as he was not english and sounded like he was french but he did speak good english. We then went to our room as after a long day travelling i could not wait to get to my bed. the room had all the essentials you would expect such as iron, coffee making facilities with biscuits, mini bar and a hair dryer in the bathroom. The room looked very nice and was very clean however it was a little smaller than i expected but still a reasonable size. The bed was very comfortable and had plenty of pillows as my partner likes to have two pillows and many hotels only give you one each. Unfortunately whilst we were ther there was building work going on near by so we could hear this in the morning however you could not hear it too loud and it was not that early that they started. The hotel does have a restaurant and bar however we did not use it as the food and drinks were quite expensive but there was plenty of places near by to eat at.
Overall me and my partner really liked our stay at this hotel and would definately stay there again. It had a great central location for getting around london and was perfect for our two night stay.
