I like this chain of hotels. The little brother to the Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza, it's a great way to stop in a good quality hotel for not very much money.
HOW TO BOOK ONLINE
You can get to them by going into the sixcontinenthotels.com site and entering the town or hiexpress.com, and doing the same.
You have to put the town in, the date you want to go there and the number of adults and children, and make sure the "best rates" has been selected in the box..when you do this, the holiday inn expresses in the town you selected pop up..and there is a box "rates" next to the name that you press to see the prices being quoted for the dates that you put in. One of the best rates at the moment is "SMART RATES"..try it- you will get a great price.
WHAT YOU GET FOR YOUR MONEY
There are over 1,200 locations.(worldwide) All of the Holiday inn express hotels feature:
free breakfast bar telephone a clean, fresh room to make your stay comfortable and easy tea and coffee making facilities hairdryer hanging space tv with teletext and sky channels bathroom with shower/bath free newspaper
Priority ClubŪ Rewards benefits
The rooms are very comfortable, the staff are professional and welcoming, and the locations are good- convenient for town centres. There are extra pillows, and blankets and if you have forgotten anything, you can phone reception and they will bring it up...we needed extra towels and pillows and after I rang, they were knocking on the door within 5 minutes. Wonderful service!
Certainly if you are planning a weekend away, or just a few days of peace and quiet, take a few minutes to look on this site. You may find what you want, and get it at a decent price- you pay for the room, remember...not for each person!
I atayed with my two teenaged sons, and the breakfast was very adequate for them - you can go back and have as much as you want..the cereals were a bit dented after they had finished. Fruit juice, bread rolls, pain au chocolat and preserves, fresh fruit, toast, and grapefruit segments with all the hot drinks you can imagine..we were set up for the morning.
The hotels are also good if you are a lone traveller. You do not feel as if you are being stared at. A free newspaper at the entrance to the breakfast place ensured that you had something to look at!
Try them and see what you think...and you can get even better prices on Holiday Inn Express hotels on Teletext holidays on the TV...take a look!
Sorry about the rating, but would like to have seen more personal stuff in here and some indication of room styles. Which outlet did you stay in? or was it more than one? have you used similar chains and is HIExpress better or worse? Personally, whilst I found the outlet we used good value for money and very clean, the rooms were generally smaller than most other budget chains I have used and cramped with three people. There is also no bath - which for me, as someone who has a severe skin condition can cause me a real problem - what sort of prices? If you update, let me know and I will be happy to rerate.
