You can book by telephoning the hotel dirctly or through their web site. Indeed, they have partially eliminated the staffed reception desk-outside peak check-in and check-out times an electronic check-in unit for so called "...automatic room allocator..." checks your credit card, debits the room charge and issues you a PIN that lets you into the hotel and your guest room. All high-tech indeed !

This chain,of course, has numerous outlets in France and in other European countries and undeniably offer value for money. You get see-is-what -you-get pricing,no frills accommodation and a night's stay which clearly is appealing more and more to leisure travellers and even some business visitors. By avaoiding frills such as health centres, swimming pools, porterage, and labour intensive room service, Formule I can keep their operating costs down for the benefit of consumers.
In UK only around 5% of the market is represented by budget hotels whereas in the United States the corresponding figure is more like 20%.Formule 1 hotels have a simple colourful design and do not have bars or restaurants. They are not everyone's " cup of tea" but for those travellers reequiring comfortable albeit basic accommodation for the night after their travels, they are a very welcome alternative to more traditional forms of accommodation<which are often grossly over priced
Advantages: Fantastic value for money Disadvantages: You need to find a restaurant as no food is served in the hotel, except for breakfast
Hotels Formule 1 are part of the Accor Hotels Group and can be found all over the world, but they are especially well established in France where 261 hotels are scattered across the country. I have been using hotels Formule 1 for many years now and I have never been disappointed. In fact, I still cannot understand how they manage to keep in business considering the prices they charge, but I am not complaining. Advantages: Increadable value for money Disadvantages: No food served except continental breakfast
Formule 1 hotels offer increadable value. This chain of hotels is part of the Accor chain and are found all over the world but especially in France where you can find 361 hotels scattered all over the country. Each hotel is the same as the other hotels in the chain and each room is the same in all hotels. The room are modern and clean and sleep up to 3 people, having a double bed and an upper bank bed. You also get a television with remote control, ... ...and somewhere to hung clothes plus free parking in the hotel car park. Showers and WC are a few feet away from your room. And all that for anything between £12 and £16 per room according to when you are travelling. Paris is slightly more expensive and for three people you may have to pay £18 to £20 per night. Still, what value!!! And breakfast: anywhere and free service, as much as you can eat for £2.20 per person. Where else will you find these ...

Advantages: Cheap and Clean Disadvantages: very basic
We have stayed in several Formula One Hotels around France. They are conveniently situated and near main routes. The car parking facilities have always been good. We have found the hotels easy to find. We have always booked on the internet which is very easy. We were relieved to find on one occasion that you can get in at all hours of the night via a secure system using the information provided on the internet booking. All instructions are in English ... ...day. Although the facilities are shared they are always very clean as they have a cleaning system after each use. The breakfast is continental style but is plentiful and even a hungry teenager is satisfied.I would recommend this chain as an excellent stopover. Each room sleeps 3 adults so even a family of 6 needs only 2 rooms. ...

Advantages: Cheap, convenient and affordable Disadvantages: shared facilities
Formula 1 hotels offer affordable accomodation for families in all parts of France as well as other European countries. Prices start at about £12 per room for 3 people, depending on location.
Reception is only available up to 10.30 in the morning and between 8 and 10 pm. However, Check in is possible and easy by credit card at an automatic cashpoint located by the door of the hotel. It is not always necessary to book in advance, in fact, I have ... ...entry to the hotel and your room. The rooms are basic but very clean. They offer a double bed with a single bed above. The only other facilities are a TV and a washbasin. A WC and shower is shared by about 7 rooms. However both are cleaned automatically after every use and as a result are cleaner than many a shower I have used in UK hotels. I have not experienced a problem in using thes toilets or showers.
Continental breakfast is basic, but only ...

Advantages: Great value for money! Disadvantages: EVERYTHING
Hmm... now, where can I start? In 2004 I went to stay to this very hotel. It was VERY cheap. Just £8 for three of us! But that was the only good this about it. First of all, when I went to stay in my room there was a single bed and a bunk-bed. The room stank of cigarettes, I got used to it once I got in, though. All my clothes stunk. And, the room itself was very dirty. I don't think the staff do their job well. The beds were very lumpy, when I woke ... ...go to my doctor a few days later after staying. Then, now this is the worst part - the toilets. The toilets were like I never seen before - it was... well, moulded into the wall. The actual toilet and sink was very small. It was okay for a bloke to do a wee, but it was so small I don't think that you could sit on it. The lights in the toilet were automatic, when you shut the door the lights turned off. Well, again that was the problem. I shut myself ...
