Formula 1 hotels offer affordable accomodation for families in all parts of France as well as other European countries. Prices start at about £12 per room for 3 people, depending on location. Reception is only available up to 10.30 in the morning and between 8 and 10 pm. However, Check in is possible and easy by credit card at an automatic cashpoint located by the door of the hotel. It is not always necessary to book in advance, in fact, I have never done so. A code is issued which allows entry to the hotel and your room. The rooms are basic but very clean. They offer a double bed with a single bed above. The only other facilities are a TV and a washbasin. A WC and shower is shared by about 7 rooms. However both are cleaned automatically after every use and as a result are cleaner than many a shower I have used in UK hotels. I have not experienced a problem in using thes toilets or showers. Continental breakfast is basic, but only costs about £2 per person. It consists of bread and jam with tea, coffee or hot chocolate. I would once again recommend this to start your day.
