San Luis hotel

Advantages: sports facilities, clean hotel, good food, friendly staff
Disadvantages: quiet for teenagers at night, lack of beach

Having just returned from Hotel San Luis We would like to say what a great time we had. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean especially as we went in August when it is at it's busiest. The food although a bit repetitive is excellent and there is always something you like (even when you have fussy children)! The rooms are cleaned thoroughly daily and clean bed linen and towels changed daily too. The entertainment is very good generally and the children's ...
...well worth considering as drinks can be very expensive. Ice creams are free as well as unlimited drinks, crisps,nuts etc. Staff are very friendly and helpful and you can hire beach towels for a refundable deposit of 10 euros each. Sports facilities are a godsend for teenagers as is the spotless pool area. We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the near future. ...

We decided to spend a long weekend in Minorca’s Capital, Mahon and found this hotel through Octopus Travel; we paid £454.00 for 4 night’s bed and breakfast for three adults in a triple room over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Grupotel Macarella

Advantages: Relaxing and Luxurious
Disadvantages: Not a huge range of facilities

The Grupotel Macarella stands just behind the marina of Cala n Bosch. The reception has a staircase up to the pool area and lifts situated round the hotel offer easy access to the various floors. The hotel Macarella sets standards with its food which is excellent and fresh meats cooked fresh for you when you go up to the buffet area. The restaurant and tables are set out for a good dining experience. Entertainment is sparse, but its own entertainers ...
...holiday or stay at the Grupotel Macarella. I personally would make this my first choice of hotel when visiting Menorca (along with the resort). A simple walk across the road brings you to the heart of the marina which is always busy in the evenings if the hotels local entertainment does not take your fancy. Although I mentioned it lacked many facilities I wouldnt use this to deter you from staying here. I would recommend this hotel any day! ...

Advantages: lovely resort
Disadvantages: none

Son Bou We stayed at the Son Bou gardens for 2wks from 21.5.08. Transfer from the airport takes approx 25 mins. Son Bou Gardens stretches over several zones. The apartments are built into a hillside so there are small steps everywhere. Not much of a problem unless you use a wheelchair or have a pushchair but there's usually a grass slope both sides & the occasional ramp. Reception Is situated a few minutes walk from zone 3. ...for your return journey to Son Bou. In Mahon turn left when you get off the bus, cross the road & head downhill for the shops. Supermarket/shops There are several supermarkets. Valentin Star

Advantages: Great Location / Food / Customer Service
Disadvantages: Rectifying Issues

...nice hotel we found the Valentin Star. After we had selected the hotel we then did a massive search around the web and some of the differences were bewteen £150. We were only going for four nights and eventually we got the room for a very reasonable price (the cheapest) with Holiday Nights, which we never heard of. We took the gamble! On arrival we made our way to the resort of Cala n Bosch and the Valentin Star and on arrival I was very surprised ...
...got it confused with another next to the beach!!! However, I was more so surprised that the hotel I was talking about used to look in a poor state of health. It seems the hotel under went a refurbishment in 2005, and what a splendid job the difference had made.
