San Luis hotel
Advantages: sports facilities, clean hotel, good food, friendly staff Disadvantages: quiet for teenagers at night, lack of beach
Having just returned from Hotel San Luis We would like to say what a great time we had. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean especially as we went in August when it is at it's busiest. The food although a bit repetitive is excellent and there is always something you like (even when you have fussy children)! The rooms are cleaned thoroughly daily and clean bed linen and towels changed daily too. The entertainment is very good generally and the children's ... ...well worth considering as drinks can be very expensive. Ice creams are free as well as unlimited drinks, crisps, nuts etc. Staff are very friendly and helpful and you can hire beach towels for a refundable deposit of 10 euros each. Sports facilities are a godsend for teenagers as is the spotless pool area.
We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the near future. ...

Mirador Des Concrete Works!
Advantages: Excellent Location Disadvantages: No major ones
Mirador Des Concrete Works!
We decided to spend a long weekend in Minorca’s Capital, Mahon and found this hotel through Octopus Travel; we paid £454.00 for 4 night’s bed and breakfast for three adults in a triple room over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Location: 8½/10
The Hotel is situated in a nice quiet residential area about ten minutes walk from the centre of Mahon and only 5kms from the airport. It is set on a cliff above the port which ... ...the back of the hotel or by a large set of steps from the centre of the city.
Appearance: 8½/10
Quite modern and well kept, with a large terrace area at the side. Parking: 0/10
None! Be warned if you hire a car as you will have to park some way from the hotel and the local police just love to ticket hire cars!
Lobby: 8/10
Reception and lounge are in the same area, the reception staff are extremely helpful and friendly, they can arrange car hire ...

worth a vist
Advantages: lovely resort Disadvantages: none
Son Bou
We stayed at the Son Bou gardens for 2wks from 21.5.08. Transfer from the airport takes approx 25 mins. Son Bou Gardens stretches over several zones. The apartments are built into a hillside so there are small steps everywhere. Not much of a problem unless you use a wheelchair or have a pushchair but there's usually a grass slope both sides & the occasional ramp.
Reception
Is situated a few minutes walk from zone 3. The staff were friendly ... ...for your return journey to Son Bou. In Mahon turn left when you get off the bus, cross the road & head downhill for the shops. Supermarket/shops
There are several supermarkets. We found the cheapest was the one near the entrance to Andreas. There's a good selection of gift shops selling the usual tourist stuff but shop around prices vary a lot.
Beach
Is approx 10 mins walk away. It has a lovely stretch of sand & gently sloping sea & wasn't over ...

Why I keep going back to the Sur Menorca
Advantages: Excellent place for young children. Disadvantages: Quite a way from the main village, but reflected in the price.
...a free mini-bus from the hotel that runs every 10 minutes or so. There's also a road-train that runs from Punta Prima right through to Binibeca, and while it's not cheap, it's a nice round-trip and keeps kids amused for a while - and Binibeca is lovely.
I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for families. The entertainment isn't great, but it's ok, and I prefer to get back to the room and chill out with the kids in bed!! Another reason ...

Lovely hotel
Advantages: Excellent entertainment Disadvantages: distance form restaurants and shops
I stayed at this hotel in August 2007 on a self catering basis in one of the apartments. the accommodation and resort was very clean and friendly. Our apartment was cleaned everyday and fresh towels and bed linen were given. Cooking facilities in the apartment with a fridge.
Also apartment had air conditioning.
Two outdoor swimming pools and one indoor pool. Food and drink were good although a little expensive, I would recommend going all inclusive ... ...the all inclusive option Excellent kids club and very good evening entertainment. Lots of activities going on around the complex throughout the day. There were also pool tables and ping pong tables on the complex. There was an onsite supermarket which is convenient but again a little over priced.
The only downside to this hotel was that it was quite a walk away from restaurants, shops etc but the hotel does run a free bus service up until 7.00pm ...
