Lovely hotel Advantages: Excellent entertainment Disadvantages: distance form restaurants and shops I stayed at this hotel in August 2007 on a self catering basis in one of the apartments. the accommodation and resort was very clean and friendly. Our apartment was cleaned everyday and fresh towels and bed linen were given. Cooking facilities in the apartment with a fridge. Also apartment had air conditioning. Two outdoor swimming pools and one indoor pool. Food and drink were good although a little expensive, I would recommend going all inclusive ... ...the all inclusive option Excellent kids club and very good evening entertainment. Lots of activities going on around the complex throughout the day. There were also pool tables and ping pong tables on the complex. There was an onsite supermarket which is convenient but again a little over priced. Hotel Sol Falco Advantages: Great Entertainment and Facilities Disadvantages: 15 Minutes walk from the Marina / Beach The hotel Sol Falco offers self catering, half board and full board. The service is excellent from all the staff and the facilities provided from this large complex are fantastic. The Sol Falco has its own in-house entertainment team which put on proffesional and entertaining shows nearly every night. Scuba Diving activities can be arranged on site, and plenty of space around its variety of pools. You walk into the reception with a fountain in the ... ...you arrive. The complex is very big but a security team patrol the whole site and the roads in and around the complex. The hotel is situated in the resort of Son Xoriguer which is next to the Marina of Cala n Bosch which is 15 minutes walk away, however I noted it as a disadvantage its the only one I could think of. Shops are situated on-site but are a little more expensive than the ones around the streets behind it. If you go self catering its well ... Holidaying at the Binimar Advantages: Everything you could want within reach Disadvantages: Have to come home We found the Binimar so enjoyable that we have holidayed there on several ocassions. Everything that you could want for is either on site or a short walk away. The rooms are clean and spacious, even for a family of four. The restaurant/cafes are reasonably priced however the Binimar is ideally located for the numerous bars and restaurants in Calan Forcat nearby. The entertainment gang are very professional, but special mention must be made regarding ... ...see whilst we were there. We have seen tributes to Abba and The Beatles (a German group who were absolutely fantastic) as well as others. All this takes place outside around a purpose built stage. During the day there are entertainments which take place around the complex. Rey Carlos Menorca Advantages: Location Disadvantages: Not on the beach? ...and I stayed at the Rey Carlos III for a week, half board in July 2009. The Rey Carlos hotel is in the small town of Es Castell, which is about 2 miles from Mahon (Mao) the capital of Menorca. Es Castell is a small town not a holiday resort but it does have a very pretty harbour front at Cala Fonts with many restaurants and bars, which is about a five-minute walk from the hotel. There is also a very small local supermarket around the corner from ... ...location right on the harbour side with the most wonderful views. If you want a hotel near a beach this is not the hotel for you, although if you hire a car Menorca has more beaches than all the other Balearic Islands put together. We found the hotel itself is comfortable and relaxing. Many of the guests that we met there had come back year after year. Why I keep going back to the Sur Menorca Advantages: Excellent place for young children. Disadvantages: Quite a way from the main village, but reflected in the price. ...a free mini-bus from the hotel that runs every 10 minutes or so. There's also a road-train that runs from Punta Prima right through to Binibeca, and while it's not cheap, it's a nice round-trip and keeps kids amused for a while - and Binibeca is lovely. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for families. The entertainment isn't great, but it's ok, and I prefer to get back to the room and chill out with the kids in bed!!
