Fortaleza is the capital of the State of Ceara, one of the less developed of Brazil. Fortaleza is a very large and modern city. I spent1 day there guest of a German student who was doing a research on the life of the local people in a favela (shantytown). The lack of hygene was one of the major issues for this people, together with the lack of education and employment. Strikingly enough, a relatively large number of houses had satellite TV, while the ordinary TV was to be found in the majority of properties and as constantly on. There are nice beaches only 20KM away form the city and you should go to a place where they dance Forro, the local dance. ...

I would like to inform you that the Gran Marquise Hotel, Fortaleza ? Brazil, never could be rated as a luxury hotel, based on international evaluation. I was there recently and I
suggest you to make sure the information about this hotel are in conformity with your expectations and quality control.
When we arrived there, they were confused about our reservation. Then, our suite junior was dirty and fetidness and the drawers were very hard to open .
We ordered a sandwich that took 20 minutes to come, and it was ill-favoured and the french fries were cold.
In my opinion, the swimming pool area is very poor and ill-kept, and the service there was beneath our expectations.
In my opinion, the quality falls short of the price. We can find very better hotels with the same price. ...

When we decided to spend Christmas in Dubai, I spent a few evenings online looking at possible places to stay. It worked out cheaper to book flights and accommodation separately, and thus we had a completely free choice of any of the vast number of hotels in the city. We decided that an apartment or suite of some kind might be useful, allowing us the freedom to prepare some meals ourselves rather than eating out 3 times a day, and the Golden Sands complex ended up being our choice.
There are 10 buildings in the Golden Sands group, so you really need to know which one you're staying in, though the majority of short-term guests are put up, as we were, in Golden Sands 3.
