Mercure Hotel du Yacht Club, Deauville

Advantages: Beautiful resort hotel, great facilities!
Disadvantages: Not easy on the pocket!

...DISNEY'S YACHT CLUB The Yacht Club at Walt Disney World has to be my favourite hotel in all of the world (Disney World that it!) and as many Ciao-ers will know I have stayed in and reviewed a LOT of Disney Hotels! I love this hotel because the service is impeccable down to the staff who open and close the doors for you when you enter and exit the hotel. The staff are also dressed in a clean nautical theme and lobby is expertly themed with low ceilings, benches and port holes! Check-in is always fast and efficient and the concierge is knowledgeable and able to secure most dining and other activities that guests require. The communal areas are all beautiful with lots of great touches: kids love the large globe in the lobby and even the individual towels I the public rest rooms are a rare luxury in this day and age! ...A first time traveller to Kota Kinabalu need not be afraid of not finding good accomodation. Kota Kinabalu has a very good range of suitable hotels for both the tourist and business traveller. The Shangri-la Tanjung Aru has long been established as a popular beach front resort hotel which is located approximately 20 minutes from the centre of the city. It has a nice relaxed atmosphere and a very good buffet breakfast spread which even includes japanese noodles and sushi. Prices are relatively high but promotional offers during non peak seasons can be very good. A newer and undoubtably my favourite hotel is the Sutera Harbour Hotel, located next to Magellan and the Royal Yacht Club. Advantages: Reasonable cost, attractive architecture

...Bergen Op Zoom is a small town not far from Rotterdam. I visited it recently whilst doing business in the nearby petrochemical area. The town is quaintly Dutch with lots of nice bars and restaurants. I stopped at The Hotel de Draak operated under the Mercure name. Like the town the hotel is old and it occupies a good position in the corner of the main square the Grote Markt. Parking is available either outside the hotel in the square of for Nfl 14.50 a night they have a private secure parking area nearby. The hotel has only 34 rooms but they are spread on 6 floors. There is a lift which is also very old but seemed up to the job each time I used it. The building itself is a typical town centre town house much loved and seen in the Netherlands.
