Advantages: Fantastic Disadvantages: long way away!
...-out break.
The food in the big hotels was very good, but a lot more expensive than the restaurants along the streets -which appeared clean and we encountered no tummy problems.
If you like colour and fabric you will be in heaven for shopping. Sarongs, batik, kites and wooden carvings are everywhere in Sanur, but you have to be prepared to haggle! Take an extra suitcase to stock up on souveneirs!
I would think Sanur is best for couples, there is not much nightlife (no clubs etc..) it is a quiet resort. However Kuta is only about 20mins by taxi where it's pumping!
Sanur was wonderful, the people ever so friendly and happy to help. The country is shrouded in mystery and I'm itching to get on a plane and fly back!...

...For us Sanur struck a balance between the brashness of Kuta and Nusa Dua where we had heard there was not much to tempt you out of the cocoon of your hotel complex. The beach at Sanur is excellent – all four km of it -and offers every type of water sport under the sun –snorkelling, water skiing, wind surfing and para sailing. Sanur is not for those who want a hectic night life although there are plenty of bars and restaurants if you tire of eating in your hotel Shopping is good too whether it is from the street traders or the shops themselves. The street traders are les persistent and intimidating than some other places we have been in and are generally good humoured in their attempts to push the price up. There are regular tourist buses to other parts of Bali from Sanur although I have to say that road safety does not seem to figure...
