Advantages: Fully equipped rooms, free wireless Disadvantages: No restaurant
Mercure Nestroy in Vienna is a good value for money for a place to stay over holidays or during a business trip. Located a 5 minute walk from a subway station and withing a 20 min walk from the city centre, Mercure is much cheaper than its counterparts just 1 km close to the city centre.
The hotel is not impressively decorated, and in general, one should not expect luxury. However, it is very practical. The rooms, for example, are equipped with larger bathrooms than some 5 star hotels in Vienna, the calls from the hotel are reasonably priced, and wireless covering all the hotel is free. All the furniture in the rooms is about functionality, even the tv, mounted above the end of the bed.
The rooms are done in a light green and many have windows over the winter garden inside.

Advantages: Location, good staff, decent breakfast, comfy rooms Disadvantages: No window in our room, air con switched off in winter
I stayed at this charming little hotel last December for a week, I booked it through Air Miles, they gave me a choice of hotels to stay in Vienna but with the few thousand air miles I had collected it limited me to a small number of hotels close to the city centre rather than plush five star establishments. Price equivelant would have been approx £55-£60.
I chose this one as I have stayed at Mercure hotels before in Barcelona & Paris & was left impressed by their value or money, clean & decent rooms & I always received a decent breakfast. When on holiday I look at hotels to provide me with a bed at night & a decent breakfast, the reminder of the time is spent out & about, sightseeing.
We arrived at the hotel & was swiftly & efficiently checked in, the informed us that they didn't have a restaurant which wasn't a problem as the hotel ...
Advantages: Large rooms, clean, with firendly staff. Disadvantages: 10 minute walk to shops and cathedral
The Hilton Vienna Plaza is an excellent hotel located on the Ringstrasse in Central Vienna, I will talk more about the hotels location later on. Before I arrived at the hotel I emailed the manager with a few questions about the local area and the hotel etc. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and I received an email back with all of my questions answered which was helpful. It took around twenty minutes to get to the hotel from the Airport, although on my way back to the airport at the end of my stay it took about thirty minutes because of heavier traffic.
Check-in was fast and very efficient, the hotel staff were friendly and gave me a map of the local area. I booked to stay in a standard king room, the rooms at the hotel are a very nice size. The bed was very comfortable and there was a chaise longue, desk, television, safe, tea ...
