Having read reviews of this hotel and having read the higher you were the quieter it was we requested a room above the 22nd floor, they accommodated us on the 23rd but this was not high enough to get away from a very noisy bar that on Friday and Saturday did karaoke and played music at a ridiculous volume until the early hours. If you want to sleep you need to be a lot higher up to get away from the noise of the bar, traffic and monorail. The only other minor fault with the Meriton is we were in a one bedroom apartment but they had placed the beds so that you couldn't close the bedroom door.
The location of the hotel was in the centre of the shopping district and to get to the major attractions of Sydney it was a 20-40 minute walk.
The facilities in the apartment were excellent and its was very clean with a daily maid service, this covered having your bed made, new towels and replenishment of any tea or coffee you had used.
The facilities in the room were excellent. There was the television, fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, dish washer, washer and dryer and an ironing board and iron. There was also a gas hob which i decided not to risk trying.
The apartments were very clean, especially the bathroom which had a sink, shower and toilet and plenty of cupboard space in which to put your toiletries. The cupboards were all mirrored making it easy for me to have a shave and for my girlfriend to do her hair (she always complains when there is no decent mirror).
The rooms were also air conditioned which was essential as i get hot very easily and that usually means i can't sleep at night.The air conditioning would make the room as cool as 16 Celsius, making it feel a little more like english weather brought right to your apartment.
We would stay in these apartments again provided we were on a higher floor. In general for apartments it is more cost effective to stay as a group so convince your friends to go on holiday too.
