There are many of these old squares dotted all over the city, and most have little parks in the centre, oasis’s of calm amidst the hustle and bustle that make a modern metropolis.

It's hard to review somewhere like the Merrion Hotel, its just such an awing experience. We went to the Merrion as a special pre Christmas weekend to Dublin. I had not stayed there before and was going purely on its reputation and the recommendation of my partner, who had stayed before.
The Merrion Hotel, Upper Merrion Street, Dublin 2, Ireland, was a delightful experience from the moment we decided to visit it. As you approach it you are immediately put at ease as it effortlessly blends into the surrounding Georgian street so characteristic of Dublin. The building subtly charms and intrigues you into entering to see what lies behind its unimposing facade.
We were staying just a few weeks before Christmas and the hotel was sensitively and stylishly decked out for Christmas.

...an excellent hotel very close to the airport. ideal for late arrivals or early departures.
the hotel caters for people's needs well, including disposable razors and toiletries if you forget them or if luggage has been lost somewhere- it does happen.
the food and drink service is excellent and the staff aim to cater for your dietary needs as well.
it is family friendly and the rooms are spacious and have double glazing.
there is a courtesy bus from/to the airport, you just need to use the complimentary phone in arrivals hall or hotel reception and they will come and pick up from outside the arrivals hall.
They also have smoking rooms to avail as you wish. A smloking area outside as well....
