Georgian townhouses and a specially commissioned contemporary wing. The hotel is in the city centre situated opposite Government Buildings and a short stroll from the main shopping district of Grafton Street as well as a host of visitor attractions. Stunningly restored Georgian interiors provide the perfect backdrop for one of Ireland's most impressive contemporary art collections. DINING:The Cellar Restaurant is dedicated to delivering the finest, seasonal Irish ingredients, whilst Ireland's only two Michelin starred restaurant, Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud offers a more formal setting. The Merrion has two bars; The Cellar Bar, set in the original 18th-century vaults, or the intimate cocktail bar, No 23. SPA: The Tethra Spa features an 18 metre swimming pool, gymnasium, steam room, and luxurious treatment rooms.
Advantages: High Quaility, Beautiful Hotel, Sheer Style Disadvantages: No onsite car parking

Service
The quality did not stop just at the arrival. We were going out that night, and as usual I was not as prepared as I should have been. I contacted room service to see if I could get an iron. In fact the room service just took the two shirts (I couldn't decide which to wear) away and returned them about 30 minutes later very well pressed. No coffee ...

...and booked the 5 star Merrion Hotel. I had considered the more famous and modern Clarence Hotel , perhaps in the hope of bumping into one of U2, but settled for the Merrion as its Georgian look and gourmet food was more my husband's style.
We were certainly not disappointed! The service was fantastic. I don't ever remember seeing my luggage - it just kept appearing in my room or reception or in the taxi. My husband's shirt was pressed and hung back ... ...the lady on recption did not laugh when I asked for the News of the World as my Sunday paper (can't help it if I need my X Factor gossip!) . All the staff were extremely pleasant and even the poor lad who took ill and threw up in the toilets next to my husband could not apologise enough. Even before our stay the concierge was really helpful booking dinner appointments for us and advising us on places to visit and dress codes.

...~ ~ The MerrionHotel only opened its doors for business just over two years ago, but already is vying with the venerable and ancient Shelbourne Hotel for the distinction of being rated as the top hotel in Dublin city.
It would be hard to find a better or more central location than the Merrion.
Situated on Upper Merrion Street, in the very heart of old Georgian Dublin, it is directly opposite Government Buildings and the “Dial”, the main Houses of Parliament in Ireland, and literally round the corner from the famous St. Stephen’s Green, with its beautiful inner-city park.
~ ~ The Merrion was in fact the result of four separate Georgian buildings being totally redesigned, revamped and amalgamated, to produce a masterpiece of craftsmanship that you would swear had been in place for centuries.

*~*Where does the Aircoach Stop?*~*
The Aircoach stops at many of the popular hotels including the Burlington, The Gresham and Jury’s Hotel. As previously mentioned there are city maps available on the coach which will detail all of the stops and this is also published on the Aircoach website if you want to plan your trip before you arrive at the airport.
The journey into Dublin City does take approximately an hour from the airport however we were on the first flight into Dublin which was mainly business passengers and we hit rush hour traffic so we were almost 2 hours arriving at our stop on Upper Leeson Street.
