Shoppers Paradise

Advantages: Great Shopping
Disadvantages: None for me

...inevitable that I will visit Merry Hill at least ten times because me and my Mom especially love it there. It is basically a massive shopping centre which is indoors so you don't have to worry about rain and you can spend hours looking around although it never seems busy for some reason. We choose Merry Hill every year for us to do our January sales shop too because there is so much on offer. Let me tell you why I love it so much!

...
...Dudley you will find it. Merry Hill is signposted for miles away from where it is so you can't miss it. The car park is huge and you can always find a space and the best thing is that it is free to park there for as many hours as you like.

By public transport you can get the metro to Dudley and then bus from there or you can get a bus link from Birmingham city centre. In all honesty though it is easier to drive to get there.

All Your Christmas Shopping Under One Roof

Advantages: everything under one roof
Disadvantages: not local

...a bit of history… Merry Hill is located in Brierley Hill in the West Midlands. It was originally the site of an Iron and Steel works, started by the Earl of Dudley in the early 1850’s. Due to the recession it closed down in 1980. In the mid 1980’s the Merry Hill site was purchased by Black Country Developers Richardson Developments Ltd. It was due to them that the first two stages of the Merry Hill development opened in 1985. ...

Great day shopping

Advantages: Shops
Disadvantages: Parking

...I usually go to is Merry Hill in Dudley in the West Midlands. It is a massive shopping centre home to literally hundreds of brilliant shops where you can get anything from clothes to DVDs. Now if you are like me and literally cannot stand shopping on a regular basis, stay clear of this place, it will be your hell, however I must admit that it is a fantastic centre to go to in order to have a real shop. With me this is once a year, but I do come back ...
...you all the way to Merry Hill which is about another fifteen minutes away. Merry Hill is a pleasant centre and is always clean when I go. There are lots of bins around for your trash and people walk around cleaning up, so it makes for a nice place to shop. The thing I always find great is that no matter how busy the centre can get it never seems claustrophobic or packed as many other shopping centres do. There are lots of plants around and the place ...

My corner shop!

Advantages: High Street shopping undercover
Disadvantages: Christmas time can be a nightmare

...a little review of the Merry Hill shopping centre, as it is a place which i visit almost every day, and i class it as my corner shop. I literally live within 5 minutes walk of the centre, and there's ALWAYS something that either myself or my girlfriend need to buy, so Merry Hill is always the place we go to get it. ...writing this! Transport to Merry Hill can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes. The road system around the centre is continually being 'improved' due to its ever growing popularity, although the never-ending road works seem to cause constant traffic problems, especially at Christmas, where travelling in and out of Merry Hill can take hours. The public transport service isn't great, as the only way to get there is by bus, many of which stop running ...

A big attraction here UPDATED

Advantages: Under cover, good range of shops
Disadvantages: Gets very busy

Merry Hill is a big out of town shopping complex, just outside Dudley in the West Midlands. It was built on the site of former derelict factories and is signposted for miles around so you can’t miss it. There is plenty of car parking space, unless you’re daft enough to go just before Christmas of course, and then it gets VERY crowded indeed. I haven’t been to see this for myself as it would freak me out completely, but it does get ...
...any time of the year Merry Hill is no place for you if you can't stand crowds! It is also a good idea to avoid the area completely if you're not actually visiting Merry Hill as the roads do get very congested when Merry Hill is busy. There is a bus service from Dudley town centre to Merry Hill and further buses are laid on around the area near to Christmas. When you get there, there is also a free courtesy bus, which takes you around the site. There ...

Merry Hill Madness

Advantages: get all the shopping you need in one trip
Disadvantages: takes all day to get through the crowds

Merry Hill is a retail facility which was built between 1984-1989 with extensions still been built today. It occupies a 125 acre site with two levels of covered mall shops, a retail warehouse park, a 10-screen multiplex cinema and 10,000 car parking spaces. The lettable floor areas of the various elements of Merry Hill are: Covered shopping - 1,055,000 sq. ft Retail warehouse - 320,000 sq. ft Multiplex cinema - 40,000 sq. ft Other retail - 100,000 ...
...its retail and cinema functions, Merry Hill provides banks and building societies, post office, tourist information centre and a range of community facilities such as senior citizens’ clubs, careers service and a citizens advice bureau. Just resentley our local shopping center Merry Hill have opend a subway shop just outside the center by a pub and Bus station. Also in Stourbridge on the ring road, both with excelent service and plenty of room to sit, a good place to take friends and chat and eat. Nice but Merry Hill is better

Advantages: Good layout, choice.
Disadvantages: Expensive, claustrophobic, sickening aromas, monopolistic

on the city, because to be honest even without Rackhams the number of shops is very limited & not of the quality one would expect. Best place to go if you live in the Midlands would be the Merry Hill Centre, unless you fancy waiting another four years before the new Bull Ring shopping centre is finally built and a load of new department stores, including Selfridges & Debenhams move in. ...
