Merry Hill shopping centre (Brierly Hill in West Midlands) is a must for everybody that likes shopping! It has all the shops you could possibly desire under one roof, ranging from department stores ( Marks and Spencers , Debenhams,BHS) to supermarkets, clothes shops,health stores you name it it will have it! Shops are clearly signposted and there are maps located around the centre. There are many security guards around, so no need to worry about pick pocketing. For parents Merry Hill has a creche called Snappers, It looks really enticing from the outside with ball pits, slides and climbing frames. Parking at Merry Hill is free and the centre has electronic signs telling you if there are spaces in the car parks, which i find very helpful. There are also spaces for the disabled and designated areas for people with young children who have buggys, these spaces are very close to the centre. Opening times at Merry Hill are varied and accomodate well for most people. They open about 10 and close at 7 weekdays , thursday they stay open until 9 and the times vary on the weekend. Opening times are extended over Christmas. Also on the site is 10 screen cinema, nightclub, bars and restaurants. These are very popular and reasonably priced.

I used to live in Kingswinford near Merry Hill. I liked it as it was so convinient, right on the door step. Now I live in Essex and the nearest shopping centre is Lake Side - miles away down the motorway!! I didn't realise how much I took Merry Hell (as it was called at Christmas times!!) for granted.
