If you're looking to go to this event in 2000, I'm afraid you missed it! It was held last weekend! It was the usual display of festivities, though. Although high winds caused some problems with the annual balloons across the river event, they did happen eventually. The River Festival includes many different events in and around the fabulous Albert Dock and along the riverfront. It really gives you a great feeling of Liverpool's heritage. This is a city with a proud past, which it is only beginning to exploit to the full. Coming to Liverpool without visiting the riverfront is like going to Paris and not climbing the Eiffel Tower!! This festival draws the public's attention to one of the city's greatest assets, and that has to be a good thing!
