Advantages: beautiful attractions, great night view of city Disadvantages: some crowding in the trains
...Sidney, i will say is a great place to visit. Flight from UK to sidney is a little bit expensive but it is worth the cost.
With such amazing coastline in many places and so peaceful, it is definately a great place for relaxation. I visited sidney in may 2004, it was exactly how i expected it to be.
Transport system is excellent and very easy to get around the city. I visited the city centre, a bit crowded but with excellent views-nice huge buildings.
I also visited the opera house and also went on a harbour cruise which departed near the opera house, to take in the view of the bays and the magnificent coastline around that area. Along the coastline is the prime minister's residence, and several beautiful properties owned by international stars.
The markets in the city are quite good for bargains.I bought really lovely...

Advantages: The most spectacular views of Sydney Bridge, Opera and harbour. Disadvantages: No restaurant, not cheap.
...Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House must be among the most photographed man-made structures on earth. They truly are iconic. Sydney's transport system is excellent, and the ferry services are first-class - better than the bus system in most UK towns. The Harbourside apartments are located right next to McMahon's Point. From here...

Advantages: Awesome place/great photo opportunities! Disadvantages: I was jet lagged when we saw it!
..., a dampened day does not ruin the experience but when the bay is reflecting the suns hot glaze (like it does most of the time), the time you spend looking around will be enhanced.
-----If you have a camera take lots of pictures, memories fade but photo's last forever.
----- Make sure you plan the day to get the most out of the harbour, on the face of it you might think there's not much to do apart from see the bridge and opera house but there's lots of things available to do, so plan your day well and expect to find things you hadn't planned on doing.
----- If you are going to other places, don't buy corkscrew hats, boomerangs and didgeridoo's etc here, you will find them cheaper and more authentic at other places. Sydney targets tourists with its shops so unless you are staying put in Sydney for the duration of your trip I wouldn't recommend...
