Metropole Brussels Hotel celebrated its 110th anniversary in 2005. This only remaining hotel of the 19th century in Brussels is noticeable by the quality of its service and its internal decoration. In fact, the main entrance has been decorated in French renaissance style, the reception hall in Empire style, some rooms in Art Deco style. ...Are you seated comfortably? This is a long review of my stay at Blackpool?s Grand Metropole.
WHAT AND WHERE?
The Grand MetropoleHotel, Blackpool boasts that it is the only hotel in Blackpool located between the sea and Blackpool promenade which is certainly the truth. From the hotel there are fabulous views of the Irish Sea. The hotel is fairly close to both the North Pier and Blackpool Tower and is within walking distance from many of Blackpool's attractions. There are numerous bars, restaurants and nightspots within a few minutes walking distance of the hotel, some even less than a minute away.
BOOKING PROCESS/RECEPTION

Advantages: A really nice good quality hotel Disadvantages: Room could be updated a little
...My boyfriend booked two nights in this hotel for me as a Christmas present. On arrival by tube it was very easy to find. The hotel is serviced by Edgware Road station on the Bakerloo, Distirct and Circle lines and so has excellent connections. It's impossible to miss the hotel on exiting the staion. Although we didn't use the buses there was a constant stream of them up and down Edgware Road.
First impressions on walking into the hotel were brilliant. The reception and bar area were one massive space, all marble and luxury. The check-in service was excellent, and in spite of there being a queue we were sorted quickly and directed to the lifts to find our room. This hotel is huge, but the rooms and lifts well signed and easy to find.
The room was lovely, with a massive comfortable bed and nice bathroom, usual hospitality tray etc...

Advantages: Beautiful hotel and great value Disadvantages: Not too near the city centre
...The Renaissance Hotel in Brussels forms part of the Renaissance chain of Hotels which in turn is owned by Marriott. I stayed at this hotel whilst on holiday in Brussels in August 2003 and found the hotel to be really good value in Summer (as all the business people are on holidays so the best time and cheapest time to visit Brussels is this time of year!)
The room:
The hotel bedroom that we had was well furnished and came with two Queen size beds, although room are available with one larger King Size bed. The room had a TV with satellite TV and a few okay English channels including BBC World. It also came with the usual trapping such as hairdryer, in room safe (very useful for passports and money!) as well as an iron and ironing board and trouser press. If you are here on business there is a large desk with ISDN line...
