A Long Weekend in Blackpool @ the Grand Metropole

Advantages: Clean and generally friendly hotel, very reasonable prices
Disadvantages: Rooms need ventilation

Are you seated comfortably? This is a long review of my stay at Blackpool?s Grand Metropole. WHAT AND WHERE? The Grand Metropole Hotel, Blackpool boasts that it is the only hotel in Blackpool located between the sea and Blackpool promenade which is certainly the truth. From the hotel there are fabulous views of the Irish Sea. The hotel is fairly close to both the North Pier and Blackpool Tower and is within walking distance from many of Blackpool's attractions. There are numerous bars, restaurants and nightspots within a few minutes walking distance of the hotel, some even less than a minute away. BOOKING PROCESS/RECEPTION We booked in for 3 nights in late June 2009. The booking process was easy enough by telephone and although I asked for a confirmation email to be sent and was advised they would do send one; no ...

A very nice hotel - Hilton's London Metropole

Advantages: A really nice good quality hotel
Disadvantages: Room could be updated a little

My boyfriend booked two nights in this hotel for me as a Christmas present. On arrival by tube it was very easy to find. The hotel is serviced by Edgware Road station on the Bakerloo, Distirct and Circle lines and so has excellent connections. It's impossible to miss the hotel on exiting the staion. Although we didn't use the buses there was a constant stream of them up and down Edgware Road. First impressions on walking into the hotel were brilliant. The reception and bar area were one massive space, all marble and luxury. The check-in service was excellent, and in spite of there being a queue we were sorted quickly and directed to the lifts to find our room. This hotel is huge, but the rooms and lifts well signed and easy to find. The room was lovely, with a massive comfortable bed and nice bathroom, usual hospitality tray etc ...

Review of Hilton London Metropole, London

4* in 1960

Advantages: Near City Center and Free Car Park
Disadvantages: Car park is small, rude staff, poor standard of room

** Background ** I recently went to Leeds for a weekend to visit some friends and wanted a hotel within walking distance of the city centre. On previous visits I had stayed further out and had a nightmare trying to get a taxi back to the hotel when I came out of the pub or club. From looking on the map I could see that Hotel Metropole is located near the train station and at the back of majestic nightclub. An ideal location as far as I was concerned. As the sole intention of my stay was to catch up with some friends and do some shopping I wasn?t too bothered about the facilities offered by the hotel but was interested in their car parking facilities. The website I booked the hotel through helpfully told me that the hotel has its own free car park. As I was intending driving to Leeds this was another great feature of the hotel ...
