Advantages: great location from which to explore Dubai. complimentary bus service. Disadvantages: beach is a bus ride away.
...We stayed at this 5 star deluxe hotel for a week in October. We have stayed in a Shangri-La hotel before (in Penang, Malaysia) so knew beforehand it was going to be an excellent hotel. The hotel opened in July 2003 – so everything inside was brand new. It is about 200 metres tall and has 43 storeys. we booked this hotel as part of a package. It cost £100 a night for a premier room. We dont normally spend so much, however it was our first year wedding anniversary .
Sheikh Zayed Road is the business, commercial and financial area of Dubai. It is 15 minutes away from Dubai International Airport and five minutes from the World Trade Centre.
Upon arrival we were shown to our room, which was on the 37th floor. We had a premier room – the full selection is deluxe, executive, premier, one bedroom suite and presidential suite.
The view...

...It's considered the most stylish Resort on Jumeira Beach and I can only agree with that... Within the Resort you'll find 3 distinctive properties. The Palace (the original hotel), the Arabian Court and the Residence & SPA, nestled in 60 acres of landscaped gardens.
In March of this year I stayed with my partner in The Palace, in one of the Executive Suites, with very generous proportions. It's not cheap but I believe it's worth every penny! With 6 restaurants to choose from, swimmingpools decorated in different styles and located in different areas of the Resort, a stunning beach, incredible service minded staff.... You will think that you've arrived in a 1001 Night Fairyland.
What struck me most is the amazing eye for detail and the most beautiful decorations I've ever seen. Especially at night the Resort breaths an atmosphere...

A lot can happen in a space of a few years but never more so than in Dubai; it's currently a massive construction site but in the nicest sort of way! The last time I visited Dubai in 2002, I stayed at Oasis Beach Hotel in Jumeirah. At that time the... more
This hotel captures true Englishness. Whether it be afternoon tea - complimented with the fantastic selection of cakes and cream teas, or the formality of a 5 course evening meal - this hotel offers it all.
