...FISH", is non existent here. Mexicana really surprised me. It was the first flight this year that I really enjoyed. You feel like you are really getting a service on top of your flight and the staff take care into making you comfortable. I closed my eyes, drank some vino tinto and before I knew it- I was in Buenos Aires. Relaxed and rested.

I hadn't really heard of this airline and was a little hesitant on using them. But for 450US dollars for a one way to Buenos Aires, well- I thought it was worth a shot.
Our trip from Atlanta to Buenos Aires took 2 days. We had originally flown into the states with roundtrip tickets back to London. We used one of the transfer flights to New York from Atlanta and skipped out on the rest. From New York, we flew to Mexico city- using Mexicana. This was a short flight with a small plane but we were amazed at how roomy the seats were. Usually my knees hit the seat before me and here I had 3 or 4 inches. The flight attendants were really laid back, whistling and having a good time.
From Mexico city we then transferred to Buenos Aires, again using Mexicana. This would be our 12 hour trip. Since we were flying on New Years day, the plane was pretty empty so we got to switch seats to wherever we liked. So, we sat in the middle in front of the projectors (Mexicana does not yet have on demand movies and tv shows.). Although there was plenty of room to sprawl out, we pretty much stayed in our one seat. So if you find yourself on a packed flight, you will still be able to enjoy some space. It was amazing how far back the seat goes and it was the first time I could actually fall asleep comfortably.
Service was very personal and the staff was charming. The American style, "hot dog vendor' service you get on say, American Airlines where the attendants yell "CHICKEN, PASTA, OR FISH", is non existent here.

Advantages: Wonderful ancient ruins to explore Disadvantages: food was often fairly poor
, for a wonderful view of this enormous old city, although rather regretting all of that tequila.
Xochimilco
We arranged a trip to Xochimilco the Venice of Mexico, 180 km of canals full of colourful boats, in a suburb of Mexico City. It was very busy because it was a Sunday, with traffic jam of gondolas, but great fun, colourful and a wonderful setting, with old ladies in small boats selling flowers and various people selling food etc.
Merida
We flew to Merida with Mexicanaairline and checked into the Gran Hotel overlooking Parque Hidalgo just one block from Plaza Mayor, an excellent location and rooms with balconies and pleasant views, costing less than £50.
We found some good restaurants in Merida. Amaro is a pleasant courtyard restaurant, formerly the house where Andres Quintana Roo, the poet, statesman and drafter of Mexicos ...

Click is the budget arm of the full-service airlineMexicana. They operate domestic routes in this country, and I have been unlucky enough to fly with them on several occasions.
Booking
Mexico doesn't quite understand the whole internet-booking phenomenon yet, and whether you get a better rate online or in person in a high-street shop depends on the airline in question. I discovered this the hard way with Aeromexico, who wouldn't let me book online using a British address (it had to match the credit card). Click, however, score well on this front, since you can book online regardless of your country of origin, there are no additional fees for using a credit card, and the prices are cheaper online than in the Mexicana shops.
One thing they do not have, however, is a reliable website. I'm sure it's secure enough in terms ...
Advantages: Free Scheme Disadvantages: Its Free - what more do you want!!!
Let me start by saying that I am not a particularly frequent flyer. I don't do many business miles, and have a couple of holidays a year.
However, I booked a holiday a couple of years ago with United Vacations. The reservations agent advised that I should join Mileage Plus. Yeah whatever, but did it anyway.
Went to the United Airlines website and had a better look at it. United Airlines is part of the Star Alliance, the worlds leading airline alliance. The Mileage Plus scheme is obviously centred around United Airlines, but you can "earn and burn" your miles on any of the Star Alliance carriers: bmi british midland, SAS, Lufthansa, VARIG, Air Canada, Austrian Airlines, Mexicana, ANA All Nippon, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Asiana, and from this year, Spanair, LOT Polish Airlines and US Airways. (phew!). Also, all ...
